Why the Ford Territory is Perfect for Philippine Roads

With its selection of features and advanced technologies, the Ford Territory is one of the most popular SUVs plying local roads today. The Next-Generation Territory, launched in April last year, has gained popularity among young drivers and small families, thanks to its standout design, premium interiors, efficient performance, and improved driving experience.

As a dynamically designed and efficiently engineered Ford SUV that follows the highest global quality standards, the Territory underwent an extensive evaluation journey before bringing it across markets globally. Vehicle prototypes with various specifications were tested on different terrains to guarantee it could withstand local road conditions and varying temperatures.

“The Ford Territory was built for young and connected individuals and starting families. Filipino customers will find that its combination of modern design and advanced features delivers on the day-to-day driving conditions they will encounter on our roads,” said Mike Breen, managing director of Ford Philippines.

Safety On The Road

The Ford Territory gives drivers added confidence with an array of safety features that fit local driving conditions, such as:

  • BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert (BLIS) includes enhanced blind spot monitoring, offering another pair of technological eyes when performing a lane change or merging on the highway. If a fast-moving car enters the Territory’s blind spot zone, for example, BLIS will alert the driver via a small light in the side mirror and an audible sound as a caution before switching lanes. This feature is proven to be useful when traversing local highways.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with a Stop-and-Go Feature (on the Titanium X) lets drivers set a cruising speed for the Territory to follow while maintaining a set distance from the vehicle ahead. Should the car in front decide to make a sudden stop or turn, the Territory will come to a full stop, if needed.
  • Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) uses both the wide-view windshield-mounted camera and radar located near the front bumper to scan the road ahead for potential collisions—fit for unpredictable local driving conditions with crisscrossing motorcycles, walking pedestrians, and quick lane switching vehicles being a daily occurrence.

Once an imminent collision is detected, the system emits an audible and visual warning. If the driver doesn’t respond in time, the AEB system activates automatically.
  • Auto High Beam activates the high beam function of the Territory’s headlights when it detects the vehicle being on dimly lit roads.
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is useful to let the driver know if any of the tires are below the prescribed tire pressure, ensuring safety and confidence in driving.

Cool Amid Year-Round Summer

The Territory remains cool inside despite sweltering temperatures outside. Both the Titanium and Titanium X variants are equipped with Dual Zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control that adjusts to keep passengers comfortable despite the heavy traffic on the road.

The Territory is also equipped with a particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) air cabin filter, an extra layer of protection against dust and allergens, ensuring high air quality inside the cabin.

Practical Power and Efficient Performance

Under the hood of the Territory is an EcoBoost 1.5L engine capable of up to 248 Nm of torque and power of up to 160 PS. Mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission with Ford’s wet-type Dual Clutch engagement system, drivers will find it easy to accelerate on open expressways with improved fuel efficiency. The Territory also has an auto-start stop function, which helps keep more in its tank during stop-and-go traffic.

Comfort and Convenience at any time

The Territory is also equipped with comfort and convenience features that make it easy to drive especially on busy roads in the city. These include wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wired Android Auto capability, plus perforated and ventilated leather seats for the Titanium X.

Capability Anywhere

The Territory’s high ground clearance of 190 mm gives drivers peace of mind during mild floods and the ability to easily go through pothole-filled roads. It also has four selectable drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Mountain, giving Pinoy drivers the ability to tailor their driving experience across a range of situations, whether driving in stop-and-go traffic, across the open highway, or on hilly terrain

Added Peace of Mind

Customers purchasing the Territory will receive a complimentary Peace of Mind service package that includes free inspection, which can be availed of within 2 months or 2,000 kms, whichever comes first, and two (2) free labor on periodic maintenance schedule (PMS) services. This is on top of the 5-year warranty–ensuring more adventures and a worry-free ownership experience.
