ACMobility, a leading provider of end-to-end electric mobility solutions in the country, inaugurated the first publicly accessible electric vehicle (EV) charging hub in the city of Manila on October 19, 2026. Located at the Kartilya ng Katipunan (Bonifacio Shrine) near the Manila City Hall, the new facility marks the beginning of a collaboration between the company and the city government to expand local electric mobility infrastructure.
The inauguration was led by Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Vice Mayor Angela Lei “Chi” Ilagan-Atienza, alongside representatives from ACMobility, including Maria Bejoc, Head of Business Development and Network Operations, and Yvonne Castro, Head of Government Engagements.
Hub Infrastructure and Future Expansion
The new charging hub features two distinct chargers designed to accommodate different charging needs:
- 22-kW AC Charger: Capable of recharging a vehicle to 80% capacity in approximately three hours.
- 30-kW DC Charger: Capable of powering an EV to 80% capacity within 30 minutes to an hour.
ACMobility has announced plans to establish two additional charging hubs in Manila, which will be situated at city-run facilities: the Bagong Ospital ng Maynila and the Sta. Ana Hospital.
Strategic Outlook on Electric Mobility
Maria Bejoc emphasized the significance of the Manila project, noting that the capital city serves as a key model for infrastructure development. “We are honored to be the first charge point operator to open a publicly accessible charging hub in the country’s capital city. We hope the opening of this charging hub encourages other local government units to embrace electric mobility and start building mobility infrastructure,” Bejoc said.
Mayor Domagoso highlighted the project as a proactive approach to addressing future transportation needs through private-public partnerships. “Here is the proof where the government is looking at the future, looking at future problems… But in the absence of resources, or with limited resources, we work with the private sector,” the mayor stated.
ACMobility currently operates the “Philippine EV Spine,” a nationwide network comprising over 240 locations and more than 600 charge points. These facilities are part of the company’s broader electric mobility ecosystem, which includes home and enterprise charging solutions, as well as fleet and on-demand services.
