Tesla Philippines unveiled the new Tesla Model Y on February 26, 2025, at the Shangri-La Plaza EDSA mall in Mandaluyong City. The Model Y, together with the Model 3, is produced in Tesla’s Gigafactory in Shanghai, China, which serves as the primary export hub for Asia.

The Tesla Model Y was the world’s top-selling vehicle for 2023 and 2024, besting the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V in 2023. It is an important nameplate for the brand, as dips in sales are said to affect the stock prices of Tesla.

The New Model Y comes only three months after the Tesla brand officially launched in the country, offering the Model 3 and the (old) Model Y. Compared to the previously presented model, the new Model Y comes with numerous changes. These include it’s bespoke cyber design that gives it an even more futuristic look. Its new cross-car lightbar at the front and the industry’s first indirect reflective body panel taillight are inspired by the Cybertruck and Cybercab. It has also

From the front bumper to the taillight, the exterior is completely redesigned to unlock maximum aerodynamic efficiency. It is equipped with double-layer glass for all windows, which results in a quieter cabin, and its huge panoramic glass top reduces UV radiation and cabin heat 7 times better for a cooler and safer interior. For this model, Tesla has introduced a new wheel design, as well as a rear diffuser to reduce air resistance and optimize the lift balance between the front and rear wheels. This enhances rear-wheel downforce, delivering a quieter, more stable, and highly efficient experience at high speeds.

Similar to the Model 3, the Model Y also has ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and an 8-inch touchscreen for the second-row passengers. The Long Range variant comes with 15 speakers and 1 subwoofer, while the Rear-wheel drive (RWD) variant comes with 9 speakers. The rear seats can be adjusted or folded down with just a press of a button to increase storage space to over 2,130 liters.

For a limited time, a “Launch Series” of the New Model Y will be available. This special configuration comes with various unique designs, including a customized launch badge at the rear, a puddle light badge, and a doorsill plate with the ‘Launch Series’ wordmark that welcomes passengers. Apart from the exclusive exterior styling, the center charging console comes with a special launch design with silver accents and an all-black vegan suede interior trim.

Using Tesla’s V4 Supercharger, the new Model Y can get as much as 266 kilometers of range from a 15-minute charge. The Rear-Wheel Drive trim has a total range (WLTP) of 466 kilometers, while the Long Range variant has a 551-kilometer range. Both have top speeds of 201 kph.

There are currently four Superchargers at the V4 Supercharging Station located at Uptown Mall in BGC, with another station scheduled to open at the Shangri-La Plaza EDSA mall. The charging cost is pegged at P19.00 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), so a full charge of the New Model Y will cost (zero to 100%) around P1,425.00.

The Tesla Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive trim is priced starting at P2,369,000, while the Long Range trim starts at P2,689,000. The Launch Series is now available to order for a limited time. Colors include Pearl White Multi-Coat, Stealth Grey, Glacier Blue (new), Quicksilver, and Ultra Red.
