Suzuki Philippines unveiled the DR160 and V-STROM 160 at Makina Moto Expo 2026, strengthening its entry-level adventure motorcycle lineup while showcasing a broader range of commuter, touring, and light off-road models.

Held from April 10 to 12 at the SMX Convention Center, the expo served as the launch venue for the two small-displacement motorcycles, which reflect Suzuki’s push to make adventure-style riding more accessible to Filipino buyers.

Both models are part of Suzuki’s Real Man Series, developed to bring the styling and character of the brand’s larger adventure and dual-sport motorcycles into a more affordable and practical displacement class. With the addition of the DR160 and V-STROM 160, Suzuki fills an important space in its local lineup by offering smaller, more accessible alternatives in categories often dominated by larger and more expensive machines.

V-STROM 160

The Suzuki V-STROM 160 is aimed at riders looking for an entry-level adventure-styled motorcycle that combines everyday usability with touring comfort. Inspired by Suzuki’s larger V-STROM models, it features an upright riding position, elevated stance, and commuter-friendly proportions.

Power comes from a 162cc engine producing 10.5 kW at 8,000 rpm and 14.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.

Key features:

  • Dual-channel ABS
  • Front and rear disc brakes
  • LED lighting system
  • Full-color LCD display
  • USB port
  • Fuel injection

Suzuki claims fuel efficiency of up to 50 km/L based on WMTC testing, with a range of as much as 650 km on a full tank. The V-STROM 160 is priced at P146,000 and is available in Solid Cool Yellow and Pearl Black.

DR160

The DR160 takes a more rugged approach, drawing inspiration from Suzuki’s DR-Z dual-sport heritage. It is intended for riders who want a versatile motorcycle capable of handling both paved roads and rougher terrain.

Its 162cc engine produces 11 kW at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.

Notable features:

  • Single-channel ABS (front)
  • High ground clearance
  • Dual LED headlights and tail lights
  • Fuel injection
  • 3-year warranty

Fuel efficiency is rated at 48.8 km/L using the WMTC method. The DR160 carries a suggested retail price of P129,000 and comes in Solid White and Solid Pure Black.

Suzuki display highlights full range of riding options

Beyond the two launches, Suzuki used its Makina Moto Expo booth to highlight the breadth of its motorcycle portfolio. The display was arranged to show how the new 160cc adventure models fit alongside the brand’s established commuter, scooter, performance, and big-bike offerings.

Featured display units included:

  • V-STROM 1050DE
  • DR-Z series
  • Raider series
  • Burgman Street EX
  • Suzuki Access
  • Skydrive Sport
  • GIXXER SF155 configured for long rides

The lineup gave Suzuki an opportunity to present a clear view of its local range—from practical urban mobility options to larger displacement adventure motorcycles. It also helped connect the newly launched DR160 and V-STROM 160 with their bigger counterparts in the V-STROM and DR families, reinforcing the design and purpose behind the new models.
