SAIC Motor Philippines Inc. (SMPI), the official distributor of MG vehicles in the Philippines, has announced a leadership change, with founding SMPI President Felix Jiang reassigned to MG Australia and Wei Wei Zhang appointed as the new President of MG Philippines.

Jiang led SMPI for three years, during which MG Philippines posted record sales in 2024, took segment leadership in the 1.5L sedan category, and remained among the country’s top 10 automotive brands while expanding its lineup across ICE, hybrid, and fully electric models. Zhang previously served as President of MG Indonesia and later worked under SAIC Motor’s ASEAN Partner Group in Shanghai overseeing Southeast Asian markets.

“We are deeply grateful to Mr. Jiang for his visionary leadership and significant contributions to MG Philippines’ success,” said Karl Magsuci, Vice President of MG Philippines. “At the same time, we are confident that Mr. Zhang’s experience, regional insight, and strategic vision will lead MG Philippines into its next phase of growth, further strengthening our commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable mobility solutions to our customers.”

SAIC Motor said the transition supports its continued focus on growth and innovation in the Philippine market, with MG Philippines maintaining its push to offer vehicles spanning ICE, hybrid, and EV options.
