Just a day after its global online launch held on May 9, the POCO’s flagship F5 Series was revealed to Philippine media at an event held in Taguig City. Composed of the POCO F5 and POCO F5 Pro, both devices are equipped with powerful Snapdragon processors that allow users to unlock their potential in gaming, photography, and mobile computing.

“With the POCO F5 Series, we aim to elevate the mobile experience to a whole new level, and we cannot wait to share this incredible journey with all our Filipino fans,” said Angus Ng, POCO’s Head of Product Marketing and Global Spokesperson. “Our focus is to ensure that POCO’s fans in the Philippines and elsewhere can enjoy flagship-quality phones at affordable price ranges, providing them with an incredible experience,” he added.
POCO is Xiaomi’s sub-brand that is focused on well-rounded performance devices with affordable price points. It is currently available in 93 countries, with the Philippines ranking in the top three markets in terms of sales. POCO’s performance to value proposition is what makes its devices attractive to gamers and techies alike.
Unlike gaming laptops that are more powerful than average but also unvaryingly have heavier and bulkier form factors, smartphones marketed for gaming need to stay within certain parameters to maintain their portability. This balance of power and mobility makes them more versatile, and perfect for working – or playing – on the go. Ng said that while consumers are getting used to super flagship phones that carry hefty price tags over USD 1,000 (approx Php 55,000+), POCO wants to increase the popularity and market share of capable phones at the USD 350-500 (approx Php 19,000-27,500) range.

POCO F5 Pro
The PRO variant of POCO’s flagship line is finally back in the lineup after a 2-year hiatus. The top-specced variant comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor that uses very little power while maintaining high performance. It comes with a 5160mAh non-removable battery that can be charged up to 50% in 15 minutes with its wired 67W turbocharging technology, or the same amount in 30 minutes using a 30W wireless charger.
It comes with a 6.67-inch WQHD+ Flow AMOLED DotDisplay that features 1400 nits (at peak brightness) and 68 billion true-to-life colors, and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
For photo and video needs, the POCO F5 Pro has a 64MP main shooter, an 8MO ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera at the rear, as well as a 16MP front cam. Its system supports 4K and 8K video recording with optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS) which is great for capturing fast and unpredictable subjects like animals, children, sports games, music performances, and busy events.
The POCO F5 Pro is available in three variants: 8GB+256GB (SRP Php 26,999), 12GB+256GB (SRP Php 28,999), and 12GB +512GB (SRP Php 30,999).

POCO F5
The POCO F5 is the first smartphone to use use the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 in global markets. Created for techies who love mobile gaming, it promises robust and smooth performance even when switching between multiple apps, and multi-tasking. To provide a better gaming experience, LiquidCool Technology 2.0’s Vapor Chamber with steam channels comes into play, absorbing the heat generated as the chipset gets hotter and improving heat dissipation by 35%. It sports a 6.67-inch 120Hz Flow AMOLED DotDisplay, with 1920Hz PWM dimming and SGS-certified Low Blue Light Ex eye care technology.
Similar to the Pro version, the POCO F5 has three rear cameras: a 64MP main, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro. It also uses the same 16MP front shooter. The F5 only shoots up to 4K video but also benefits from OIS and EIS, which reduce blur caused by moving. Film filters and frames are also available to enhance captured shots.
The POCO F5 comes with a 5000mAh battery with 67W wired turbocharging, that powers from 0 to 100% in less than an hour.
POCO F5 variants include the 8GB+256GB ( SRP Php 20,999) and 12GB+256GB ( SRP Php 22,999).
