Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) issued a statement about the issuance of the Electric Vehicle Incentive Strategy (EVIS) Executive Order:

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) welcomes the issuance of the Electric Vehicle Incentive Strategy (EVIS) Executive Order, which represents a significant step toward accelerating vehicle electrification, strengthening local automotive manufacturing, and supporting the continued growth of the Philippine automotive industry.

In line with this national direction, MMPC will participate in the program through Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s PhP 7-billion investment to locally produce hybrid electric vehicles in the Philippines.

“Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation welcomes the issuance of the Electric Vehicle Incentive Strategy (EVIS) Executive Order, which marks an important milestone in advancing vehicle electrification and strengthening the automotive industry in the Philippines. Backed by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s ₱7-billion investment commitment, we are ready to support the government’s vision through the local production of hybrid electric vehicles, further enhancing the country’s manufacturing capabilities and competitiveness,” said Noriaki Hirakata, Chairman of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation.

Mitsubishi Motors has been a pioneer in electrified vehicle development, continuously advancing technologies that balance environmental performance with the quality, reliability, durability, and safety that customers have come to expect from the brand. The company’s global experience in electrification continues to guide its efforts in delivering practical and sustainable mobility solutions for markets around the world.

According to Hirakata,  “Mitsubishi Motors has a long history of developing electrified vehicle technologies, with decades of global experience in delivering innovative mobility solutions. Our expertise in electrification is guided by the same principles that define Mitsubishi Motors brand—quality, reliability, durability, and safety—giving customers confidence and peace of mind in every vehicle they drive”.

The planned local production of hybrid electric vehicles marks a new chapter in MMPC’s long-standing partnership with the Philippines. It will support the expansion of local manufacturing capabilities, encourage further development of the automotive supply chain, and contribute to the country’s transition toward more sustainable transportation.

“Through this investment, we look forward to creating greater value for the Philippine economy, supporting the country’s sustainability objectives, generating opportunities across the automotive ecosystem, and contributing to the continued growth of local vehicle manufacturing,” he added.

Since establishing operations in the Philippines in 1963, MMPC has remained committed to investing in the country, developing local talent, supporting employment, and contributing to the growth of the automotive industry. The company will continue to work closely with the Philippine government, industry stakeholders, and local communities to advance sustainable mobility and strengthen the Philippines’ role as a competitive automotive manufacturing hub.
