MG Motor Philippines has formalized a partnership with En Tsumugi ELV Dismantling Corporation to manage the safe and environmentally responsible disposal of electric vehicle units affected by a fire on April 6, 2025. The agreement commits both organizations to strict safety protocols and compliant end‑of‑life handling of EV components, particularly high‑voltage (HV) batteries.
En Tsumugi, located in Mexico, Pampanga, is recognized as the Philippines’ first model End‑of‑Life Vehicle dismantling facility. The collaboration marks the inaugural implementation in the local automotive industry focused on proper disposal and dismantling of fire‑affected EVs, representing a milestone in responsible EV management and environmental compliance.
“Safety, responsibility, and sustainability remain at the core of MG’s operations,” said Mr. Wei Wei Zhang, President of MG Motor Philippines. “Through this partnership with En Tsumugi, we are ensuring that all necessary measures are taken to properly manage and dispose of affected EV units in a way that upholds the highest environmental and safety standards. This reflects our long-term commitment to responsible mobility in the Philippines.”
“As vehicle technologies evolve, proper recovery and treatment standards must evolve as well,” said Mr. John Hung, CFO and Marketing Director of En Tsumugi. “En Tsumugi remains committed to supporting safer, more sustainable end-of-life vehicle management aligned with emerging global environmental practices.”

The ceremonial signing also underscores MG Philippines’ corporate social responsibility stance and its proactive approach to handling sensitive operational incidents while prioritizing public safety and environmental protection. By formalizing the agreement, both parties will ensure affected units are processed in a controlled, transparent manner that minimizes environmental impact.
MG Philippines said the partnership will strengthen its sustainability framework within the automotive sector and reinforce best practices for responsible mobility as electrified vehicle adoption grows in the country.
