MG Motor Philippines made a strong statement at the Manila International Auto Show 2026, presenting what it calls “The Next Wave of MG,” a campaign that signals the brand’s push toward smarter, more progressive mobility. With a lineup spanning internal combustion, hybrid, and new energy vehicles, MG is clearly broadening its reach among Filipino motorists who want modern transportation that blends performance, practicality, efficiency, and innovation.
At the center of the MG pavilion were two key launches: the all-new MG5 Prestige and the MG G50 PHEV. Together, they reflect MG’s strategy of offering vehicles that answer very different needs while staying aligned with the changing demands of the Philippine market.

All-New MG5 Prestige makes motor show debut
The all-new MG5 Prestige marks MG Motor Philippines’ latest effort to strengthen its sedan lineup. Positioned as a compact sedan for everyday driving, it is designed for buyers looking for style, usability, and value in one package. Its proportions give it a mature road presence, measuring 4,607 mm in length, 1,818 mm in width, and 1,489 mm in height, with a 2,680 mm wheelbase that helps create a more accommodating cabin. Practicality remains one of its strongest points, with seating for five and a 512-liter trunk that makes it suitable for workweek commutes as well as weekend travel.
Visually, the MG5 Prestige carries a cleaner and more upscale appearance than one might expect at its price point. Automatic projector LED headlights with daytime running lights, 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels, and a power sunroof add a welcome layer of sophistication. Inside, the cabin adopts a more contemporary layout with a redesigned dashboard and a 10.25-inch infotainment display compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Rear air-conditioning vents and USB ports improve passenger comfort, while convenience and safety features such as cruise control, tire pressure monitoring, and a reverse camera with dynamic guidelines help round out the ownership experience.
Under the hood is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder DVVT gasoline engine producing 110 PS and 142 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT. It meets Euro VI emissions standards and is tuned to deliver the kind of smooth, efficient performance expected from a daily-use sedan. In the Philippine market, where affordability and equipment often define the segment, the MG5 Prestige makes a compelling case for itself at P888,888. It will be offered in Diamond Red, Phantom Black, Cosmic Silver, and Dover White.

MG G50 PHEV makes first international appearance
Making its first international appearance at MIAS 2026, the 7-seater MPV arrived as a more advanced and efficient evolution of MG’s family-oriented people mover. It uses a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder plug-in hybrid system paired with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, engineered to provide smoother power delivery, quicker response, and greater refinement in day-to-day use.
The MG G50 PHEV delivers a peak combined output of 299 PS and 280 Nm of torque, giving it the kind of performance that should feel effortless whether in urban traffic or on longer highway runs. MG claims an electric-only range of up to 95 kilometers, while its 60-liter fuel tank contributes to a factory-rated combined range of 1,415 kilometers. That dual capability gives the G50 PHEV broader appeal, especially for families seeking an MPV that can handle both short city trips in near-silent EV mode and extended out-of-town drives without the usual range anxiety associated with full electric vehicles.
The cabin is designed with comfort and flexibility in mind. A premium three-row configuration includes captain seats in the second row and seating for three in the third, preserving full 7-seat practicality. A panoramic sunroof adds to the sense of openness, while the dashboard introduces a more modern interface with dual 12.3-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are integrated, and exterior details such as automatic projector LED headlights and a more contemporary design language bring the MPV in line with MG’s latest global styling direction. In the Philippines, the MG G50 PHEV is priced at P1,398,888 and will be available in Pearl White, Andes Gray, and Pearl Black.
The All-New MG5 Prestige is now available for viewing and test drives at all, authorized MG dealerships nationwide. Alternately, the books are now open for reservations of the MG G50 PHEV.
