Honda Cars Philippines Still has 2025MY Honda Civic Type R Units for the Taking!

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is commemorating the legacy of the Civic Type R as it takes its final bow in the country. Long a symbol of Honda’s performance image and engineering pursuit, the Type R has been Filipino car enthusiasts’ favorite for its exhilarating power, precise handling, and distinctive design.

From the heritage and performance of the legendary EK9 through successive generations to the current FL5, the Civic Type R has continually pushed the boundaries of what a front-wheel-drive performance car can achieve. Each iteration reinforced the model’s reputation for track-capable dynamics while retaining usability for everyday driving, helping to cultivate a passionate and dedicated local community around the Type R nameplate.

The Fifth Generation FK8 was previewed locally at the 2017 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). HCPI made an initial allocation of 100 units for the Philippine market; all were claimed within 48 hours of the availability announcement. In 2021 the FK8 received a refresh that added Honda SENSING, improved brakes, and new color options. The Sixth Generation FL5 arrived in January 2023, continuing the model’s presence on Philippine roads and strengthening its following.

As HCPI continues to bring in new models and innovations, the current-generation Civic Type R will soon conclude its official run in the Philippines. For enthusiasts and prospective owners who wish to acquire a brand-new official unit of Honda’s halo model in the local market, HCPI says there are still a limited number of 2025 MY Civic Type R units available.

“We are extremely grateful for how well our customers have received the Civic Type R and shown their appreciation for this model over the past eight (8) years. We are confident that this model’s legacy will inspire us as our model range continues to evolve, especially our current and upcoming models that will always give our customers the familiar, fun-to-drive spirit of Honda,” said Ms. Rie Miyake, HCPI President.

The company notes that the Type R brand endures and looks forward to future iterations.

Interested parties can visit their nearest Honda Cars dealership to secure remaining units. More about the Civic Type R here: https://www.ignition.ph/news/launched-the-all-new-honda-civic-type-r-fl5/
