GAC International Philippines will launch the GAC AION UT battery-electric hatchback in the Philippines this May, positioning the model as an urban-friendly EV that delivers “big car energy” through roomy packaging, distinctive styling and rapid charging capability. Targeted at style-conscious Filipino drivers, the AION UT blends Milanese-inspired design cues with a versatile interior built on a class-leading 2,750 mm wheelbase.
The five-seater AION UT pairs compact exterior dimensions with an interior engineered for real-world practicality: flat-folding rear seats, a flexible cargo area and an airy cabin layout intended for everyday city life, weekend trips and group outings. The model’s eye-catching details include winky-eye headlights and a curated artistic color palette, available in Champs-Elysees Beige, Emerald Green, Rococo White, Seine Silver and a two-tone Rococo White + Emerald Green option.

Safety and battery technology are highlighted as core strengths. The AION UT uses GAC’s “Magazine Battery” design, a high-strength steel body structure, and supports fast charging that can take the battery from 30% to 80% in roughly 24 minutes. Further technical specifications will be released in subsequent announcements.
GAC underscores its two decades of collaboration with Toyota and Honda as part of a broader quality and manufacturing pedigree. In the Philippines, the brand backs ownership with a nationwide network of 30 dealerships, a Manila parts warehouse, and aftersales programs that include warranties up to five years or 150,000 km for ICE models, and EV warranties ranging to eight years or 160,000–200,000 km for core electric systems, plus two years of complimentary roadside assistance.
Pre-reservations are open now at GAC dealerships ahead of the May launch. The AION UT’s arrival is expected to sharpen competition in the Philippine EV hatchback segment by offering a fashionable, practical and tech-forward alternative for urban buyers.
