Continental Tires Philippines, through official distributor JM Far East, Inc. (JMFEI), has launched the Total Confidence Plan, a new warranty program that adds road hazard protection to eligible tire purchases in the country.
The program takes effect on April 6, 2026, and covers eligible Continental passenger, SUV/4×4, and light truck tires bought from that date onward. In a market where tire warranties often focus only on manufacturing defects, the Total Confidence Plan positions Continental among the few tire brands in the Philippines offering a structured limited warranty that also covers certain road-related damage.
JMFEI said the program combines two layers of protection into a single warranty package. The first is road hazard protection, which applies during the first year from purchase or until the tire reaches 5mm of remaining tread depth, whichever comes first. It covers unrepairable damage caused by common road conditions, including severe punctures beyond repair, sidewall cuts exposing tire cords, impact damage from potholes or broken pavement, damage caused by road debris, and certain run-flat damage subject to validation.
For approved road hazard claims, customers will receive a one-to-one replacement with a brand-new Continental tire of the same specification or the nearest equivalent. Each registered tire is entitled to one free replacement during the first year only.
The second layer is Continental’s manufacturing defect warranty, which can extend up to five years depending on the tire’s date of manufacture. Tires up to six years old are covered by both road hazard and manufacturing defect protection in the first year, followed by pro-rated manufacturing defect coverage from the second to the fifth year. Tires aged seven to nine years are eligible for both protections in the first year only. Manufacturing defect claims will follow standard warranty guidelines and are subject to pro-rated adjustments rather than full replacement under the Total Confidence Plan.
The program is aimed at everyday motorists using Continental tires for commuting, family transport, and personal mobility. To qualify, buyers must purchase at least two brand-new Continental tires in a single transaction from authorized dealers or official online stores, then register within seven days through the Total Confidence Plan portal. Each tire is registered individually and linked to a specific customer and vehicle.
JMFEI has also introduced a digital claims process designed to make filing and monitoring claims more convenient. Customers must upload photo and video evidence of the damaged tire and complete a live video technical inspection with the company’s technical team. Claim results are expected within two to four business days. Approved replacement tires will be made available nationwide, with lead times of at least five business days in Metro Manila, seven business days in Luzon, and 14 business days in Visayas and Mindanao.
The warranty has clear exclusions. It does not cover repairable punctures, cosmetic damage, improper use, racing, off-road misuse, poor maintenance, installation-related damage, taxis, and rental vehicles, or damage caused by accidents, fire, and flooding.
“Filipino motorists deal with unpredictable road conditions every day. The Total Confidence Plan is designed to give them added assurance that their investment is protected—not just against defects, but against the realities of the road,” said Winston Manabat, JMFEI President.
The Total Confidence Plan applies to eligible Continental tires purchased starting April 6, 2026, and is available nationwide through authorized dealers and official online platforms.
