BYD Cars Philippines has officially launched the all-new BYD Atto 2, expanding the brand’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) lineup in the country. The Atto 2 is positioned as a highly accessible, practical SUV designed to lower barriers to electrified mobility and encourage more Filipinos to switch to electric driving.
“Our newest model, the BYD Atto 2 is proof that shifting to electric vehicles is a practical reality for the everyday Filipino driver,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director, BYD Cars Philippines. “Whether you want to go full electric, or extend your range with a plug-in hybrid model built on BYD’s Super DM-i technology, the BYD Atto 2 makes the switch to go electric easy, whichever you choose.”
The model lineup offers two powertrain directions to suit different needs: a full battery electric vehicle (BEV) and BYD’s Super DM-i plug‑in hybrid system. The DM-i system is offered in Premium and Dynamic variants so buyers can pick the balance of efficiency, range and features that fits their lifestyle.

Range figures are strong for both approaches. The EV variant delivers up to 380 km of pure electric range. The DM-i Dynamic and Premium variants provide an electric-only range of up to 45 km and a combined range of 1,340 km, based on an efficiency run conducted by BYD Cars Philippines in partnership with the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP).
All Atto 2 variants use the BYD Blade Battery that is noted for durability, thermal stability and long-term reliability — a core safety and performance element across the BEV and DM-i models. Safety-focused engineering is part of the Atto 2’s “smart‑first SUV” DNA, while feature differentiation gives buyers clear choices: the DM-i Premium is distinguished by its full suite of comfort and convenience features and is the only variant equipped with DiPilot ADAS.
Interior tech mirrors that approach to choice. The EV variant comes with a 12.8‑inch intuitive touchscreen, while DM-i models use a 10.1‑inch display; both systems support smartphone connectivity to keep drivers linked while on the move. The EV also adds Vehicle‑to‑Load (V2L) capability, allowing users to power external electronics, appliances or equipment directly from the vehicle — useful for road trips, outdoor activities or emergency power needs.

Ownership has been kept competitive and straightforward: the Atto 2 lineup is competitively priced and has a once‑a‑year maintenance schedule to simplify upkeep.
