4 Types of Filipino Drivers the VinFast VF3 Was Built For

From daily office runs to weekend escapes, the compact VinFast VF 3 is reshaping how Filipinos view car ownership, proving versatile enough to suit a wide range of lifestyles.

Since launch the VF 3 has enjoyed strong demand across VinFast’s markets. In Vietnam it logged 20,231 units sold from January to May 2026. In Indonesia it made up more than 70% of VinFast’s sales in the first five months of 2026, with 1,093 deliveries. In the Philippines the VF 3 has become one of the brand’s best-selling models, topping AutoDeal’s most-inquired list in March and again in early April.

Beyond initial novelty, the VF 3 functions as a practical tool for many Filipino drivers.

The Daily Commuter

The VF 3’s biggest advantage over gasoline cars is lower running costs, a key factor for those stuck in city traffic. Its NEDC-rated 215 km range covers a typical week of urban driving. A full charge costs roughly P500 per week, or about P2,000 a month for regular users, compared with roughly P7,000 a month on fuel—meaning savings of around P5,000 monthly.

The Small Business Owner

The VF 3 may look small outside, but the cabin is surprisingly roomy. A taller ride height and driving position—helped by 191 mm ground clearance—make loading supplies and navigating uneven sidewalks easier. At just 3,190 mm long, its compact footprint simplifies maneuvering through traffic and squeezing into tight parking spots, making deliveries and errands less stressful.

The Adventurer

While many expect a compact EV to stick to city streets, VF 3 owners regularly take it beyond Metro Manila—to Laguna, Tagaytay, Pampanga and more. Example trips like Santa Rosa to Angeles required only two charges and under P600 in electricity for a round trip. With a top speed of 104 km/h, the VF 3 handles uphill stretches and highway cruising with ease.

The First-time EV Buyer

Hesitancy about charging infrastructure is common, but growing public networks and VinFast’s complimentary charging at V-Green stations through March 2029 help ease concerns. Ownership is largely worry-free, too, with features such as auto-lock, reverse camera, and multiple customization options to match daily needs.

Ultimately, the VF 3’s value depends on why you buy it. For the right driver—commuter, small-business owner, weekend explorer, or first-time EV buyer—it offers meaningful benefits. Visit your nearest VinFast showroom to see which model suits your lifestyle best.
