Omoda Philippines, a subsidiary of Omoda Global, is confident that its initial offering, the Omoda 5, will be one of the safest cars in the Philippines after receiving a 5-star rating from the rigorous European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP).

The Omoda 5 crossover SUV was designed and configured with the key demands of global customers in mind, and built in a fully-automated super factory in Anhui, China, where build quality is top priority, The facility has its own NVH laboratory to test NVH levels, as well as an in-house crash test arena with eight collision tracks where vehicles are subjected to multiple crash simulations at different angles and speeds. Using high-strength steel which can withstand pressures of up to 1800Mpa, the cage body was designed and manufactured to maintain its overall structure without deformation in case of a collision. Inside the cabin, the OMODA 5 comes with 7 airbags – including the driver and passenger seats, side airbag, side curtain and middle airbag, which can provide all-round safety protection for occupants in the event of a collision.

Both the ICE and New Energy variants of the Omoda 5 will come equipped with a full suite of Advanced Driver Assist Systems namely: autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, intelligent high beam assist, traffic jam, assist, integrated cruise assist, emergency lane keeping system, blind spot detection, lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert, and rear cross traffic assist with emergency braking.

Omoda and sister brand Jaecoo are set to launch in the 4th Quarter of 2023.
