Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP), the exclusive distributor of Geely in the Philippines, formally introduced its new president and CEO at an intimate gathering held at the Geely North EDSA dealership.
Naoyuki Takeda officially assumed his new post as the top executive on January 1, 2024. He is Geely Philippines’ third president since it officially entered the Philippine market in September 2019. He took over the reins from Yugo Kiyofuji, who was called back to the head office in Tokyo.
Takeda brings a wealth of experience in the Philippine automotive industry, having been part of Sojitz in different capacities for many years. As part of his most recent assignment, he played a pivotal role at MMPC Auto Financial Services and JACCS Finance Philippines for over six years until 2022. His comprehensive understanding of the various facets of the automotive industry gives him an edge to lead the Geely brand and navigate the challenges and opportunities in the Philippine market.

In his inaugural address, President Naoyuki Takeda shared the company’s vision, which extends beyond the conventional boundaries of the automotive industry. “Our commitment goes beyond words; it’s evident in the actions we’re taking, the changes we’re making, and the improvements we’re implementing,” said Takeda. “We are building something significant, and it’s an invitation for each of you to join us in reshaping the automotive landscape.“

Geely PH’s first fully electric offering
During the event, the newly installed president also introduced what will be the brand’s first 100% electric vehicle (EV) available for sale in the Philippines, the Geometry C.
The Geely Geometry C is a crossover EV with a futuristic and sporty vibe, boasting a sleek black top and an elegant, upscale interior. Equipped with a high-density 70 kWh battery that can be rapidly charged in just 45 minutes using the Platinum Super-Fast Charging technology, it has a range of approximately 485km. One highlighted feature of the Geometry C is its intelligent and efficient electric drive system, which ensures a smooth and seamless driving experience. With a robust power output of 150 kW and a torque of 310 Nm, the Geometry C accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds.
Some convenience features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen head unit, AQS Air Ecological Filtration, and Heads Up Display (HUD) Projection Digital Display. It also has an IMAX panoramic sunroof, blade-shaped headlamps, through-type feather-shaped taillights, flush door handles, and Bose speakers. Some of its advanced driver assist systems include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Detection.
Geely Philippines is targeting to launch the Geometry C EV in the second quarter of 2024.
