Nissan has announced the appointment of Yasuhisa Masuda as the new president of Nissan Philippines, effective April 1, 2024. Matsuda will report to Toshihiro Fujiki, the newly appointed president of Nissan ASEAN and Thailand, and will be based in Manila. Fujiki replaced Isao Sekiguchi who was promoted to Corporate Vice President (CVP) of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., and managing director of Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFN).
Masuda will lead Nissan Philippines’ next phase, maintaining the ongoing success established by his predecessor, Juan Manuel Hoyos.
Under the leadership of Hoyos, Nissan Philippines launched multiple products across different segments, namely, the all-new Kicks e-POWER, all-new Livina, new GT-R, all-new Nissan Z, and new Almera with NissanConnect Services. These launches helped expand Nissan’s footprint in the country, making the brand achieve 37% growth by the end of FY23 – more than double the industry’s average growth rate.
Masuda joined Nissan in 2011 and has held various leadership positions in market intelligence, brand, and media strategy. He was previously the Chief Marketing Officer for Japan Product Marketing and Brand and Media Strategy. Before joining Nissan, he also worked in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. His experience in data analytics and consumer insights will help Nissan Philippines navigate the ever-changing consumer landscape in the country.

Juan Manuel Hoyos, Nissan Philippines’ outgoing president, will continue pursuing his career as president of the Nissan Importers Business Unit (NIBU) in the Americas and will be based in Mexico.

Masuda’s official inauguration will be made after his qualification under Philippine law and the confirmation and election by NPI’s Board of Directors.
