PLDT Enterprise, which is holding the first fully-virtual Philippine Digital Convention (PH Digicon) 2020 from October 28-30, will have Salesforce Industries CEO David Schmaier as one of the event’s headline speakers.
Carrying the theme, “IMPACT”, this year’s PH Digicon aims to inspire attendees to embrace the call of making a positive impact on society through the adoption of innovations and technologies set to define the new future of work.
Schmaier is set to talk about Digital Transformation: A Point of Impact Across Industries—giving a look at how online service companies have disrupted the global work landscape with game-changing platforms.
He founded and was CEO of Vlocity, a startup, and three-time Forbes Cloud 100 company (201, 2018, 2019) that has built several industry-specific CRM tools such as media and entertainment and healthcare and government, which Salesforce acquired in June this year for $1.33 billion. He is responsible for Salesforce Industry Cloud software and industry strategies.
With over three decades of experience building CRM, cloud, and industry-specific vertical software companies as an executive, entrepreneur, and board member and investor, Schmaier’s presence in the Philippine Digital Convention 2020 will surely give its delegates a glimpse of how the acquisition of Vlocity made an impact. While Salesforce has developed some of its own industry solutions, having a division devoted to verticalized tools creates additional market opportunities for the company. Likewise, PLDT also fortified its partnership with Salesforces and Vlocity earlier this year, signing off on a three-year digital transformation program that enabled it with industry-specific applications from Vlocity built 100% natively on the Salesforce platform.
