Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) recently inaugurated its newest dealership in Talisay City in Negros Occidental under MG Gateway South Corporation (GSC). Situated along the main road of Lacson Street in Zone 15 Poblacion, it sits on a total land area of 4,200 square meters and boasts of a 7-vehicle display at the main showroom and 18 bays in the service area.
Negros Occidental is the northwestern half of Negros, the fourth largest and second most populated island of the Philippines. It is known as the country’s “sugarbowl” because of its numerous sugar cane plantations. With Bacolod as its capital, the province embraced urbanization over the years and commerce has taken shape through investments and establishments such as oil companies’ factories, bottling plants, steel fabricators, business processing outsourcing hubs, PEZA-registered IT parks and centers, and domestic and international airports.
“We are extremely thankful and very humbled to be given this opportunity to open another Mitsubishi dealership. This is also very special to us because this is our first dealership in the province of Negros Occidental,” said Markane Goho, chairman of the Gateway Group. “We are fully committed to contributing to increasing the sales and market share as well as uplifting the Mitsubishi brand image. We look forward to more new and happy Mitsubishi customers in this beautiful island of Negros.”
An online gathering was held on February 18, Friday, to officially welcome Mitsubishi Talisay Negros to the brand’s expansive dealer network. Goho led the Gateway delegation together with their President Raymund Basubas. The MMPC executives were led by President and CEO Takeshi Hara. The event also celebrated the re-opening of Mitsubishi Motors Quezon Avenue which is now under the same group.
“It is no secret that the Gateway Group has a history of success and expertise. This is proven not just by their longevity in the business but also in the way they embrace challenges. Re-launching an already existing dealership with Quezon Avenue and opening in a new region with Negros, simultaneously, is no easy feat,” said Hara. “We, however, at MMPC, have full confidence that Gateway will help us realize our mission of enhancing the car life of more Filipinos. It is such a delight, that they recognize our commitment to provide customers with quality products and give them the care that they, and their Mitsubishi cars, deserve.”
