Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Takeshi Hara as its new President & CEO effective July 1, 2021. Mr. Hara takes over the reins from Mr. Mutsuhiro Oshikiri who is set to retire after over 40 years of service to Mitsubishi.

Mr. Hara joined Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) in 1993 and has experience in various facets of the business including plant operations, corporate planning, as well as sales and after-sales operations for MMC in Japan and several other countries including Thailand. Prior to joining MMPC, Mr. Hara was the President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Sales Caribbean Inc., MMC’s subsidiary and distributor in Puerto Rico, from 2019 to 2021. He joined MMPC last April as Executive Vice President and Assistant to the President & CEO.

Like Mr. Oshikiri, Mr. Hara possesses strong leadership traits that complement his enthusiasm and dedication to the brand. As the new CEO of MMPC, he aims to further enhance the customer experience by incorporating programs that are geared to secure new customers and retain loyalty from current Mitsubishi owners. His motto is “Serve our customers to enrich their lives.” With this, he strongly commits to bring Filipino customers the best products and services as well as strengthen the company’s productivity and sustainable growth in the Philippines.

Mr. Oshikiri served as MMPC’s President and CEO for 4 years. Throughout his leadership, MMPC remained to be the strong number 2 automotive brand in the country. During the most challenging time of the COVID19 pandemic, Mr. Oshikiri steered the company and implemented structural reforms to strengthen MMPC. Notable key highlights of his stay as the Chief Executive Officer are:

  • 1 million sales milestone of MMPC
  • 700,000 local unit production

  • 200,000 L300 production

  • Highest sales performance in a month – 6,822 (March 2017)

  • Successfully launched the no. 1 selling Small MPV – Mitsubishi Xpander

  • Relaunched the iconic Mitsubishi L300, Euro 4

MMC and MMPC believe that the appointment of Mr. Takeshi Hara as the new President and CEO will complement the structural reforms initiated by Mr. Oshikiri that made MMPC stronger than ever before. Mr. Hara’s extensive knowledge and experience in various fields of the automotive industry will drive the company forward and further enhance the car buying experience of Filipino customers.

Enjoy your much-deserved retirement, Mutsu-San! God speed!
