Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) announced the appointment of Mr. Mutsuhiro Oshikiri as MMPC’s new President and Chief Executive Officer effective on August 1, 2017.

Mr. Oshikiri will succeed Mr. Yoshiaki Kato who started his assignment in MMPC in March 2015.  Although he was the youngest President and CEO at the age of 49 that was assigned in MMPC and having quite a short term of only two years and four months, Mr. Kato was able to drive the company towards several significant milestones.  As Mr. Kato concludes his term in the Philippines, he will be leaving a great legacy and will be remembered for his hard work and dedication in driving the company to achieving its goals.  It was during Mr. Kato’s term when MMPC officially moved its manufacturing plant offices from Cainta Rizal to Sta. City, Laguna.  This move marks MMPC’s expansion as the company fully participates n the Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy or CARS program.  MMPC was the first automotive manufacturer to receive the approval from the Department of Trade and Industry – Board of Investments to participate in CARS program.  Notable to mention also was the realization of MMPC’s participation on the CARS program under Mr. Kato’s presidency.  The first localy produced Mirage G4 was rolled-off and was presented to the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte in a ceremony held at the Malacañan Palace last February 2017.  With this, MMPC was also able to record its highest production output in May 2017.  Meanwhile the local production of the Mirage (hatchback) was started in June 2017.  Another accomplishment during his term was the sustained sales growth. In fact, MMPC recorded its 10th consecutive sales growth last year and even achieved a record-breaking sales of 61,400 units of vehicles sold.  This is so far the highest annual vehicle sales that MMPC was able to register.

MMPC is highly confident of further years of progressive business with the new leadership.  MMPC’s incoming President and CEO, Mr. Oshikiri was previously assigned as the CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd. (MMAL).  He was the CEO of MMAL since 2012.

Career Background of Mr. Mutsuhiro Oshikiri:
