United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), the exclusive Philippine distributor of Chery and Foton vehicles, has announced the appointment of Mr. Erroll E. Dueñas as its new president effective September 23, 2021.
Prior to the appointment, Dueñas was the Vice President for the Customer Service Division (CSD) of UAAGI. He will report directly to the board, led by its new Chairman and outgoing President Rommel L. Sytin.
In his new role, Dueñas will be responsible for continuing to drive the group’s momentum in the challenging pandemic-constrained environment, including sustaining the success of its vehicle lineup and further enhancing the ownership and aftersales experience for Foton and Chery customers.
“Erroll brings with him a wealth of experience gained from close to three decades of working in the automotive industry with various established brands. With his new role as UAAGI President, complemented by his extensive expertise in after-sales, service, and customer relations, I am confident that his leadership, together with strong support from dealer partners, will help us improve both the sales and the customer experience to further grow the Foton and Chery brands in the market,” said Sytin.
“I can say that my humble beginnings have tested me enough to take on a new leadership role. I give credit to the people whom I’ve worked closely with, from the bottom ranks to top management. Learning the ins and outs of vehicle commerce all through these years made me value three key points: innovation, efficiency, and leadership,” confided Dueñas.
“I clearly see the UAAGI institution with great minds harmoniously collaborating, and working smart together in attaining the same goals for the company. I envision a breeding ground of leaders future-proofing the brands, products, and services in the UAAGI roof for its valued consumers,” he added.
The two brands have enjoyed robust and steady growth in defiance of the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic. Foton is reaping the fruits of a nationwide surge in logistics transportation while Chery is riding the hugely popular crossover/SUV wave.
“I am sincerely honored by this appointment, and I am most particularly grateful for the trust that our new Chairman has accorded me. It’s a substantial responsibility, but it also comes with so many opportunities for me to lead and learn from the best,” revealed Dueñas.
“It is our former President Rommel Sytin’s dedication in the institution that also propelled me to take on the role, and it’s with that same dedication that I fully accept the challenges and lessons that come with the job title as I onboard,” he added.
Being a long-termer at UAAGI, Dueñas has helped roll out successful aftersales programs for both Chery and Foton and is keen on spearheading the brands’ strategic and innovative direction, sales operations, network, and acquisitions.
“Notwithstanding the unprecedented pandemic, one of my missions is to ensure that our partners and dealerships expand as aggressively as possible. Moreover, I am looking into executing programs and business game plans to further expand the corporation’s growth into becoming one of the most diversified organizations in the country. These schemes are non-negotiable as we look forward to new workweeks ahead and of becoming the key catalyst of automotive commerce,” Dueñas declared.
