Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) is bringing in a “Wonderfully Distinct” vehicle that will make its mark in pioneering a segment in the Philippine automotive industry, a 7-seater crossover – the Geely Okavango.
Based on the Geely Hao Yue, the Okavango is the coming together of the best features of an SUV and an MPV into a 7-seater crossover. The Geely Okavango will be powered by a 1.5L Turbo engine that was jointly developed by Geely and Volvo paired with a 7-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission. It also has a Dual Variable-Valve Timing (DVVT) for a perfect balance of power optimization and fuel efficiency, and thanks to the 48V-EMS, can deliver a maximum power of 190hp and a maximum torque of 300 Nm. It is equipped with three-zone air conditioning; a 360-degree panoramic camera with a best-in-class guidance system and dynamic auxiliary lines; and will have three driving modes – Eco, Normal, and Sport. Safety features include 6 SRS Airbags, over-speed warning, electronic stability control, hill start assist, central locking with speed-sensing auto-lock, and hill descent control.
The cabin provides versatility for its passengers with 19-seat configurations, 42 storage nooks, and compartments including a double-layer console. Spacing is arranged so that adults able to sit comfortably in all three rows.
SGAP has started pre-launch sales of the Geely Okavango, giving an incentive of as much as Php 90,000 savings for those who reserve early. As an added incentive, SGAP will also include a 3-year periodic maintenance package which includes oil, parts, and labor only to those who will reserve and purchase during the pre-selling period.
