GAC International Philippines, Inc. is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with the local debut of the all-new GAC AION UT, a compact all-electric hatchback designed for city driving but touted to offer “big car energy” thanks to its surprisingly spacious interior and advanced technology.
Following its strong reception in markets such as Thailand, Australia, Europe, and Latin America, the AION UT is now being introduced to Filipino buyers as an eco-friendly, style-forward option for urban mobility, blending Milan-inspired design with practical everyday usability.

Although classified as a 5-seater compact hatchback, the AION UT has been drawing praise for its generous cabin space. Built on a dedicated EV platform prioritizing comfort, it features a class-leading 2,750 mm wheelbase and delivers 905 mm of rear legroom, allowing three adults to sit comfortably in the back. This layout helps the AION UT defy its exterior dimensions and positions it as one of the roomiest models in its segment.
Safety and driver assistance also play a central role in the AION UT’s pitch to city drivers and first-time EV owners. The model is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS package that includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and a 360-degree surround view camera system. Highlight safety features include large 2.1 m V-shape side curtain airbags and an intelligent Drive-off Assist or Reverse Mis-Acceleration Mitigation system to help prevent low-speed accidents in tight spaces.

For everyday practicality, the AION UT offers 24 storage compartments throughout the cabin and a versatile 440-liter boot that can be expanded by folding the rear seats. It also features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing owners to power external devices directly from the vehicle during outdoor activities or emergencies.
At launch, GAC Philippines is offering the AION UT Elite variant as an attainable entry point into premium electric mobility. Power comes from a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor producing 100 kW (136 PS) and 145 Nm of torque, tuned for agile city performance and brisk urban maneuvers. The Elite uses a 47.1 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) “Magazine Battery,” housed within a high-strength steel body structure. GAC says DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 30 percent to 80 percent in around 30 minutes, aimed at easing range and charging concerns for daily commuters and weekend travelers.
The AION UT Elite rides on 16-inch alloy wheels shod in 205/60 R16 tires, targeting a comfortable balance for Manila’s mix of urban roads. Inside, the cockpit is anchored by an 8.88-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen that manages infotainment and vehicle settings. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reinforcing the model’s tech-forward positioning.
The AION UT will be offered in a range of youthful, gemstone-inspired exterior colors, including Champs-Elysees Beige, Emerald Green, Rococo White, and Seine Silver, plus a two-tone Rococo White with Emerald Green roof. The interior is finished in black with a black ceiling. Reservations are now open at GAC dealerships nationwide.
The AION UT Elite FWD EV carries an SRP of P1,068,000, with an introductory price of P998,000 valid until June 30, 2026, reflecting a P50,000 discount. An additional P20,000 promo discount is available for the first 400 units sold, while supplies last.
GAC frames the AION UT’s arrival against the backdrop of its two decades of collaboration with Toyota and Honda, citing that heritage in world-class manufacturing and hybrid technology as the foundation for its current generation of EVs. The brand emphasizes that its engineering and quality standards have been tuned for local conditions and Filipino driving requirements.
To support ownership, GAC Philippines is building out a “zero-anxiety” customer experience, backed by a network of 30 dealerships nationwide, a dedicated parts warehouse in Manila, and comprehensive aftersales services. For internal combustion models, GAC offers warranties of up to 5 years or 150,000 km. EVs, including the AION UT, are covered by an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty, as well as an 8-year or 200,000 km warranty for the core three-electric system. All new owners also receive two years of free roadside assistance.
