Ford Philippines has expanded its Ranger lineup in the Philippines with the availability of the new Ranger XLS Sport.
Unlike it’s more premium brothers in Wildtrak and Raptor range, the XLS variants of the Ranger are the nameplate’s more affordable line of pickup trucks. The new Ranger XLS Sport is an upgraded version of the base variant and was designed to be more noticeable on the road with its 17-inch alloy wheels, step boards, and glossy black painted rear bumper and front grille.
“The new Ranger XLS Sport is definitely a welcome addition to our already extensive Ranger lineup in the country, catering to customers with more utilitarian needs. It remains one of the most powerful and performance-bred pickup trucks in the market today with a more striking and recognizable exterior while still retaining the same Built Ford Tough features that our customers have grown to love,” said Ryan Lorenzo, AVP, Marketing, Ford Philippines.
The Ranger XLS Sport is still powered by Ford’s 2.2L TDCi engine that produces 158 HP and 385Nm of torque, and but is only currently available with a 6-speed manual transmission. It also comes with Driver-Assist Technologies such as Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Cruise Control, Front Driver and Passenger Airbags, and ISOFIX Child Seat Anchors. It is also powered by SYNC, Ford’s hands-free infotainment system, allowing ease of access to the Ranger’s entertainment system and connected mobile devices through simple voice commands.
The Ranger XLS Sport is initially available in two variants: the Ranger XLS Sport 4×4 MT priced at PHP 1,211,000; and the Ranger XLS Sport 4×2 MT priced at PHP 1,062,000. Available colors are Arctic White, Absolute Black, Aluminum Metallic, Meteor Grey, and True Red.
