BYD Cars Philippines marked the second anniversary of the Sealion 6 DM-i with an exclusive Drive-In Cinema event at Ayala Malls Trinoma, gathering more than 60 owners of the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.
The celebration featured a grand multi-point convoy across Luzon with stops at BYD Manila Bay, BYD Sta. Rosa, and Shell Mobility Mexico Southbound, which hosts an ACMobility Charging station. The event also highlighted the strength of the BYD Sealion 6 Facebook community, which now has more than 25,000 active members nationwide.
“Our BYD Sealion 6 owners are the true heartbeat of the brand,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines. “Every story they share, every new driver they welcome into the fold, and every kilometer they put on their Sealion 6 DM-i is a testament to the trust they’ve placed in us. We’re committed to matching that trust with exceptional, reliable after-sales support as this community continues to grow.“

Since its launch, the Sealion 6 DM-i has remained one of the most popular models in the BYD lineup. It was the first vehicle in the Philippines to feature BYD’s Super DM-i technology, giving drivers a combined range of more than 1,000 kilometers from a full charge and tank.
That long range addressed one of the biggest concerns among Filipino drivers, range anxiety, and gave many a practical entry point into electrified driving. Owner Seth Tullao said the model has lived up to expectations. Since buying his Sealion 6 DM-i in 2024, he has logged 77,000 kilometers on an all-stock unit.
The model also comes with an ADAS suite and Vehicle-to-Load functionality, adding convenience for daily use and road trips. Safety ratings from ANCAP and Euro NCAP further strengthen its credentials. The Sealion 6 DM-i also earned the 2025 Car of the Year award from the Philippine EV Community.
The anniversary event also put the spotlight on the Sealion 6 Owners Club, which has grown into one of the country’s most active automotive communities in only two years. Members regularly hold meetups and share real-world ownership experiences, helping turn individual ownership into a shared community.
“Two years ago, we started with a handful of owners who simply wanted a place to share their experience with the Sealion 6 DM-i,” said Edward Salas, President of the BYD Sealion 6 Club. “Today, we’re a much larger community that is bound by a shared passion for electrified driving. Nights like this remind us how far we’ve come together, and how much further we can go.“

BYD Cars Philippines also partnered with the Cultural Center of the Philippines to feature the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival during the event. McDonald’s and Taters joined as event partners.
The company said it continues to invite the public to explore BYD’s Super DM-i technology and its growing line of electrified vehicles in the Philippines.
