BYD Cars Philippines and ACMobility, the official distributor of BYD passenger vehicles in the country, reached a New Energy Vehicle (NEV) market milestone. Ayala Mobility Solutions sold 4,780 BYD passenger vehicles in 2024, accounting for 82% of the Philippine NEV market.
Of these, 2,078 were BYD Seagull, Dolphin, Atto 3, T3, Seal, Han, and Tang models. In 2024, BYD led the country in BEV sales with 69% market share.

BYD’s top-selling model was the Sealion 6 DM-i, which sold 2,669 units in 2024. From July, when it was launched, until December, it was the best-selling NEV and HEV model with a 19% market share.
BYD’s 2024 sales increased 8,900% compared to its 2023 sales due to its electric car sales. Strong sales made BYD the 11th best-selling car brand in the Philippines, with a 1.0% market share, surpassing numerous significant automotive manufacturers and other Chinese brands.
BYD established another worldwide sales record in 2024 to complement this local success. Last year, BYD sold 4,272,145 New Energy Vehicles, up 41.26% from 2023. This is the first year BYD has sold over 4 million units. The new sales record makes BYD the undisputed Global New Energy Vehicle Market Sales Champion.
“We are beyond thrilled to share our performance in 2024, marking a pivotal year for BYD in the Philippines,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our team, the unwavering support of our dealer partners and suppliers, and most importantly, the trust of our valued customers. Together, we will continue driving the Philippines toward a smarter and greener future with innovative and accessible solutions.”

Top-selling, game-changing models electrified 2024
BYD’s electric vehicle lineup powered its success. The BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, the brand’s best-selling model, had 14.6% of the compact SUV market in 2024 and 25.9% from July to December last year.
In 2024, BYD Cars Philippines sold 1,062 Atto 3 subcompact crossovers. The Philippines’ top-selling BEV has a 35% market share due to its pleasant and dependable Blade Battery-powered electric mobility solution.
With 411 units sold in 2024, the BYD Seagull was the brand’s third-best seller. After its September launch in the Philippines, the BYD Seagull had 38% of the BEV category in the fourth quarter of 2024 and 14% of the BEV market overall.
These outstanding findings show Filipinos’ growing acceptance of electric vehicles, paving the way for a cleaner future. “ACMobility and we are committed to providing more Filipinos with BYD’s global models that represent greener and smarter mobility solutions in 2025 and beyond. We aim to maintain this momentum by offering innovative and inexpensive models to Filipino clients,” said BYD Philippines Country Head Aiffy Liu.

52 new dealers approved to bring BYD nationwide in Philippines
BYD’s swift and broad dealership development contributed to its remarkable growth in the Philippines last year.
BYD started 2024 with two dealerships. With 25 dealerships nationally, it shuttered last year. BYD Cars Philippines has approved 52 dealer sites to expand BYD electric vehicles and services to more places in 2025 as it works to provide outstanding customer service nationwide.
With the brand’s ongoing nationwide BYD Tech Tour, which brings its groundbreaking and innovative lineup and electric vehicle technologies closer to the local communities of its core markets, and new model launches slated throughout 2025, it promises to be an even brighter year for the Global #1 New Energy Vehicle brand in the Philippines.
“The growing network of BYD dealerships and service centers and ACMobility’s expanding footprint of EV charging stations across the country are part of the dynamic ecosystem ACMobility envisions in supporting and encouraging the country’s transition towards electric mobility,” said Palanca.
