Bosch officially announced their increased global sales, achieving a growth of 5% for the previous year. Comprised of 440 regional companies which are represented in over 150 countries, Bosch continues to grow their organization by expanding their footprint with more associates across the countries. The Asia Pacific (APAC) region contributed to 20.8% of the global sales, while the Philippines has enjoyed a double digit growth in the last 3 years posting a 13% growth last year.
The local sector has enjoyed strong development in all divisions with mobility or automotive being the biggest sector amassing 85 Bosch car service shops nationwide offering parts, bytes, and services. A few examples of the automotive aftermarket products are the wiper blades, horns, headlight bulbs, spark plugs, injectors and electronic fuel pumps to name a few of Bosch’s current lineup of quality products. As they say, “quality comes with a price” but in this case, even if you spend more on your initial expense, you still get to save in the long term by virtue of a more efficient and longer lasting product.
The Power tools division led by Mr, William Go is currently focused on cordless tools and is one of the top online sellers in Lazada. The one battery system which started in 2014 creates an ease of use for all Bosch cordless power tools to have interchangeable batteries for their 12 and 18 volt systems. The popularly sold online items are the GSB 500RE electricians kit IXO cordless screwdriver.
The announcement of Bosch’s growth also comes with news of change as Mr. Andrew Powell stepped down from his current leadership position of Managing Director for Bosch Philippines to take on a new role as Managing Director of Bosch Indonesia. Mr. Powell will be succeeded by Mr. Richard Walker who has 21 years of experience working for Bosch in the US and Germany.
Bosch’s consistent drive to “innovate and help make a difference” fuels the realization of their life-saving products such as the Anti-lock Braking System(ABS) which they invented and recently the advent of the Retrofit eCall / TEP 110 Smart Collision Detector which is a plug in smart sensor device designed for crash detection of passenger vehicles.It increases the safety of the passengers by accelerating road side assistance and rescue.
In line with their road safety advocacy, Bosch has developed and improved some of the existing safety features in modern cars such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) & Electronic Stability Program (ESP) for cars and motorcycles which help increase steerability and stability. The ESP or electronic stability program counteracts skidding by brake and engine interventions via speed sensor, yaw sensor, steering angle sensor coupled with a hydraulic unit to modulate the brakes. Bosch also participates in working with government agencies to lobby for safer road safety programs.
