If you’re a Gen Xer and grew up in Luzon, chances are you have many core memories from the Puerto Azul Resort in Ternate, Cavite. Once dubbed “Asia’s Paradise Resort” and the “World’s Golfing Capital,” Puerto Azul is a vast and sprawling land bank located in the coastal area of Cavite that offers the option of mountain and beach attractions. For the longest time, it was THE destination for families seeking a short respite that was just a short drive (90 minutes) away. It was also popular among 90s kids because of the sports and music festivals held there. Puerto Azul Golf & Country Club hosted some of the most high-profile golf tournaments, from the Philippine Open to the celebrity-studded Goma Cup of actor Richard Gomez.
Just recently, Puerto Azul Land Inc. announced the construction of Puerto Azul Gateway. The developers envision it as a cutting-edge commercial center that will help drive domestic tourism in the coastal municipality of Ternate. The project aims to complement the plans to redevelop Puerto Azul and bring it back to its old glory.
Last April, Bloomberry Resorts Corporation entered into a purchase agreement with Boulevard Holdings Inc., Puerto Azul Land Inc., Ternate Development Corp., and Monte Sol Development Corp. to develop 279 hectares of the property into an integrated resort complex featuring a world-class casino, a luxury hotel, an all-new golf course, and other mixed-use development.

All-New “Stopover” Experience
Following the groundbreaking ceremony held last September and attended by top company officials, Puerto Azul Land Inc. unveiled the all-new “stopover” experience called the Puerto Azul Gateway.
The project will house 1,200 square meters of leasable space that will cater to every visitor, from dining to other commercial needs.
“We’re very excited to launch the Gateway project. This heralds a new age for Puerto Azul Land Inc.,” said Samantha Panlilio, COO of Puerto Azul Land Inc.

“Rest assured, our team is mindful of the environmental and social impact of the said construction project. That said, we shall adhere to the highest standards of sustainability practices by collaborating with local government officials and environmental consultants to ensure conservation and pro-green efforts are met. It is our commitment to deliver a most positive impact to the community.”
Puerto Azul Gateway is expected to be completed by 2025.
