VinFast Revises Battery Subscription Policy In the Philippines

Reducing EV Ownership Costs by up to 20 Percent

VinFast has announced an updated battery subscription policy for the Philippine market, a move the company says will reduce upfront electric vehicle (EV) ownership costs by up to around 20% depending on the model, while simplifying the purchasing process.

Under VinFast’s two-track ownership setup, customers may either buy a vehicle with the battery included or purchase the vehicle at a lower price and enroll in a battery subscription plan. VinFast said the subscription route lowers initial cash outlay, with monthly fees applied based on driving distance and starting at P 1,600 per month.

VinFast positions the battery subscription as a “lifetime battery warranty” approach, saying it assumes responsibility for battery performance for as long as the subscription is active. This includes maintenance and repairs, as well as free replacement if battery capacity drops below 70%. The company also said accident-related battery damage will be handled under the subscription policy, reducing customer financial risk.

For buyers who prefer the conventional purchase route with the battery included, VinFast said it will continue to provide aftersales coverage including a battery warranty of up to **10 years or 200,000 km**, allowing customers to choose the ownership structure that best fits their usage and budget.

“With our pioneering battery subscription policy, we aim to remove the biggest concerns of Philippine consumers, helping VinFast electric vehicles become a truly practical and accessible choice for every household when combined with our comprehensive sales and aftersales policies. This also reaffirms VinFast’s commitment to rewrite the rule of the market and create the most favorable conditions for customers in the green transition,” said Antonio “Toti” Zara, Chief Executive Officer of VinFast Southeast Asia.

The company added that the revised subscription scheme complements other measures it has introduced locally to encourage EV adoption, including free charging at stations run by strategic partner V-Green, flexible financing packages with low down payments, and a residual value guarantee program offering returns of up to 90% of the original price.

VinFast has been in the Philippine market for over a year and said it continues to expand its EV lineup, sales options, and aftersales footprint. Alongside its authorized dealership network, the automaker is working with partners to build out charging infrastructure and service workshops to improve access to vehicle support nationwide.
