VinFast is pushing the idea that going electric can be simple, stylish, and practical—especially for urban drivers—and the VinFast VF 6 Eco trim fits that description to a tee. It is a perfect example of a compact electric SUV aimed squarely at city life: easy to maneuver on tight streets, modern enough to turn heads, and equipped with the key tech and safety features most people actually use day to day.

Design That Doesn’t Disappear in Traffic

Styled by the Torino Design Studio, the VF 6 Eco wears sharp curves and bold lines that make it look more upscale than “entry trim” would suggest. The 17-inch rims add presence without compromising its city-friendly proportions—compact where it counts, but not bland.

A Clean, Digital Cabin Built Around Your Phone

Inside, the vibe is minimalist and modern. A 12.9-inch touchscreen anchors the cockpit and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Core functions are immediately familiar—navigation, music, and calls flow naturally without a steep learning curve. It also has a HUD (heads-up display) that quietly improves the driver’s quality of life.

Fast Charging for Real-World Schedules

For drivers who worry about downtime, the VF 6 Eco supports DC fast charging, with a stated 10–70% charge in around 25 minutes (depending on charger power, conditions, and battery state). It’s the kind of top-up that fits into errands or a short break, not a long wait. Home charging further supports everyday convenience.

Smart Safety—even in the Eco Trim

Even the Eco trim of the VinFast VF 6 is loaded with practical driver-assistance features that matter in daily commuting. The Level 2 ADAS includes basic cruise control, a speed limiter, blind-spot detection, rear parking assist, and a rear-view camera—useful tools for highways, dense traffic, and tight parking.

Smooth EV Performance

Power delivery is where EVs tend to win people over, and the VF 6 Eco keeps it responsive and easy. Output is listed at 174 hp and 250 Nm of torque, which translates to smooth pull-away, confident merging, and calmer stop-and-go driving.

The Cost Argument: Charging Can Be Surprisingly Low

VinFast emphasizes affordability in daily use: a full charge can cost as low as P780, or roughly P1.63 per kilometer when charging at home. Real costs vary with electricity rates and driving conditions, but the message is clear—for many city drivers, EV ownership can shift from “expensive” to “efficient.”

A Built-In Depreciation Safety Net: VinFast Residual Value Guarantee

To address resale uncertainty, VinFast offers a Residual Value Guarantee Program that essentially promises to buy back VinFast vehicles up to three years old. Owners simply bring in their vehicles for inspection, pay a one-time inspection fee of P900, and—depending on the age and condition of the vehicle—receive an offer price based on the SRP, less any promotional discounts availed of at the time of purchase.

If the vehicle is deemed eligible, VinFast will buy it back at set competitive rates: 90% for vehicles up to six months old; 86% for up to 12 months; 78% for up to 24 months; and 70% for up to 36 months—the maximum age eligible for the program. It’s a straightforward promise meant to protect value in the early ownership window, subject to program conditions. What’s more, cash payout is expected within one to three weeks from acceptance of the offer.

Battery Subscription: What It Is and Why It Matters

For the local market, VinFast has updated its Battery Subscription policy, significantly reducing upfront investment costs and simplifying electric vehicle ownership. This pioneering policy reinforces VinFast’s customer-centric approach to advancing green mobility in the Philippines. Customers can now choose between purchasing a vehicle with the battery included or opting for a battery subscription model. This option offers a more attractive initial investment, with upfront costs reduced by up to 20 percent, depending on the model.

The SRP of the VF 6 Eco is pegged at P1,499,000 outright, or P1,249,000 with a P2,350 monthly battery subscription. Meanwhile, the VF 6 Plus carries an SRP of P1,699,000 outright, or P1,409,000 with the same P2,350 monthly subscription.

The Takeaway

The VF 6 Eco packages distinctive design, a large modern touchscreen with full phone integration, usable ADAS safety tech, and quick DC charging into a compact SUV sized for city life. Add the running-cost advantages, the Residual Value Guarantee, and the Battery Subscription option that can lower upfront costs, and it becomes an EV that’s clearly trying to make “switching” feel less risky.
