Three Reasons to Check Out the VinFast Viper This July

With sporty looks to match a top speed of 90 km/h and an introductory price from P 73,900, the VinFast Viper is aiming squarely at the Philippines’ best‑selling 125cc scooters. The local motorcycle market is crowded with familiar gasoline names that have long set the standard for daily commuters. VinFast, however, brings the Viper: an electric motorcycle that mirrors the sporty styling riders know while changing the ownership equation through battery swapping and flexible purchase options.

First, sporty performance without the “try‑hard” exterior. The Viper doesn’t shout “electric motorcycle.” Instead it wears aggressive proportions and a muscular stance more in line with popular 125cc sport bikes. A 5,200W BLDC in‑wheel motor delivers up to 90 km/h, making the Viper capable on busy city streets and faster urban roads alike. It also packs rider‑friendly upgrades—TFT instrument display, Smart Key with remote locating and tracking, projector headlamps, and dual rear shocks with external reservoirs—that feel more at home on higher‑end machines. Two removable LFP batteries fit neatly under the seat, yielding up to 150 km in standard conditions—enough for several days of typical commuting before a recharge or swap is needed.

Second, charging that removes range anxiety. VinFast’s battery‑swapping ecosystem gives owners two practical choices: swap depleted packs at V‑Green stations or recharge batteries at home from a standard outlet. A single swap costs P 35, and VinFast’s subscription promo sweetens the deal: customers who subscribe on or before July 31, 2026 receive one free battery subscription for the first 12 months plus up to 20 free swaps per month during the promo period—roughly 800 km if you assume 40 km per swap. V‑Green plans to scale its network heavily, targeting around 30,000 swapping stations across the Philippines, with initial roll‑out through VinFast dealerships before wider expansion. No firm completion timeline has been given.

Third, switching to electric without the steep premium. Under the battery subscription model the Viper starts at P 73,900, placing it squarely in the competitive 125cc segment and comparable to many gasoline rivals. Buyers who want to own the battery can choose P 86,600 for one battery or P 99,300 for two. Subscription fees run P 439 per month for one battery or P 799 for two, and include access to the swapping network. During the Early Booking Program—which ended on July 18—reservations came with incentives worth P 5,600. The result: Filipino riders now compare two similarly priced options—gasoline scooters or the Viper electric—while gaining battery swapping, connected features, and lower running costs from an electric powertrain.

The VinFast Viper doesn’t reinvent the commuter; it repackages familiar urban performance with an ownership model designed for city life. If you want sportbike looks, sensible range, and a practical way to go electric without paying a premium, it’s worth a close look this July
