Motorsports fans will see a new contender hit the street circuit when the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup opens its 12th season on March 13 to 15, 2026, at Riverpark in General Trias, Cavite.
The headline debut is the Next Generation Tamaraw OMR, a locally made one-make race car set for its first official circuit outing on the 2.4-kilometer street track, around 35 minutes from Metro Manila. The Tamaraw OMR joins the long-running Vios OMR in the series, with same-spec Tamaraw racers battling in Sprint Races under a newly introduced Tamaraw Racing Class aimed at spotlighting driver skill and consistency.
The Tamaraw OMR traces its roots to last year’s Tamaraw Racing Concept and has since undergone ongoing track testing. In February 2026, the Tamaraw Race Car Package was made available to interested racers and teams, paving the way for broader participation in the new platform.

Racing for Team TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippines is TMP President Masando Hashimoto, joined by new racers Chenee Jimenez, Banaweboy Alex Lim, Justin Buzzhype, Enzo Ison and Will Lucas. They’ll face established names and former Vios Cup champions from other top Philippine racing teams, including Iñigo Anton, Dominic Ochoa, Alain Alzona and Jesse Garcia.
Vios OMR competition also returns, with the Sporting Class, Super Sporting Class, and Legacy Class back on the streets for Sprint Race action. Organizers are expecting a 30-driver grid for 2026, continuing a momentum that saw more than 12,000 spectators attend last year’s Cavite stop in Bacoor, which combined racing and driving exhibitions with entertainment and displays.

Off-track, fans can expect vehicle showcases spanning Toyota GR performance models, select Lexus vehicles, and soon-to-be-launched Toyota vehicles such as the RAV4 and Urban Cruiser. A sim racing area will let visitors try e-Motorsports rigs, while official GR merchandise will be on sale. Toyota car club members will also have an exclusive track day to sample the Riverpark layout with their own performance vehicles.
“It will be another thrilling year as we kick off a GRipping and GRitty season of the TGR Philippine Cup! By adding new playgrounds in Cavite and Batangas, it will surely make the hearts of all motorsports fans race. I recently tried out the Tamaraw OMR in a drift track in Pampanga and it really made me wow! I cannot wait for more people to experience what this car can do when pushed to its limits!” shared TMP President Masando Hashimoto.
