VinFast has unveiled its international business strategy for electric scooters, naming the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand and Malaysia as its first five key overseas markets as it steps up its expansion across Asia.

The move marks a significant milestone in the company’s broader growth plans and its push to develop a wider green mobility ecosystem in high-potential markets where urban transport demand is strong and interest in sustainable mobility is rising.

Its initial international lineup will include battery-swapping electric scooters such as the VinFast Flazz, VinFast Evo, VinFast Feliz II and VinFast Viper, with more models expected in due course. The range is being tailored to local riding conditions, mobility needs and consumer preferences in each country.

VinFast is also targeting hundreds of retail outlets across the five markets by 2027. The expansion model will combine dealer networks, service workshops, financial solutions and energy infrastructure, including cooperation with V-Green for charging and battery-swapping systems.

The strategy builds on strong momentum in Vietnam, where 406,453 e-scooters were delivered in 2025, securing the leading market share in the country’s scooter segment. With more than 10 models across multiple categories and flexible charging and battery-swapping options, electric scooters have become an increasingly popular mobility choice in the domestic market.

For 2026, the company said it has completed its master plan for three e-scooter lines — mainstream, premium and sport — while launching seven new premium and sport models to strengthen its position in design, performance and product differentiation. Supported by large-scale manufacturing capacity, competitive pricing and a comprehensive ecosystem, the brand is aiming to accelerate transport electrification across the region and beyond.

“Expanding our e-scooter business globally represents a strategic pillar in VinFast’s long-term development roadmap. We have conducted in-depth market research, worked closely with local partners, and developed comprehensive plans for dealer network expansion, product portfolios, and service ecosystems. Through collaboration with reputable dealers and strategic partners worldwide, VinFast is committed to delivering smart, sustainable, and accessible electrified mobility solutions, contributing meaningfully to the green transformation of transportation in diverse markets,” said Ms. Vo Thi Cam Tu, Managing Director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market.

The Philippines will serve as the first strategic market in the global e-scooter rollout. Partnerships have already been signed with five dealers across Luzon and Mindanao — Maverick Racing Factory Inc., MotorCentral, New Nemar Development Corp., Supremebike Corporation and ARC Trading — to build a nationwide retail and service network.

In recent years, VinFast has also expanded its green mobility ecosystem in the Philippines, Indonesia, India and other markets through collaboration with local partners, alongside strategic partners such as GSM, an all-electric taxi operator, and V-Green, a global charging infrastructure developer.

Beyond electric scooters, VinFast has introduced a wider electric vehicle lineup ranging from the VF 3 to the VF 9, broadening consumer choice and reinforcing its role in the shift toward sustainable transportation.
