Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) recently organized a thrilling two-day adventure for D-MAX customers and car club members from all over the country at the latest Isuzu D-MAX Camp-Out event. Held on September 14 to 15, 2024, the event combined eco-driving, overlanding activities, and family fun, highlighting the Isuzu D-MAX’s off-road prowess and fuel efficiency in the stunning beachside setting of Crystal Beach, Zambales.

The journey began at Isuzu Manila, where participants prepared their vehicles for a 160-kilometer eco-drive to Petron Subic for a fuel top-up and efficiency check. After recording their final fuel consumption ratings, the convoy continued for another hour to reach Crystal Beach, where participants were treated to a hearty lunch before embarking on the afternoon’s off-road activities.

After lunch, Joel Pedro’s Overland Kings guided the group through an engaging Overlanding 101 session. 4WD expert Beeboy Bargas was on site and provided a detailed demonstration of off-roading techniques. He particularly focused on the capabilities of the Isuzu D-MAX’s new differential lock system and rough terrain mode.

“This is an excellent hands-on experience for our customers to feel the significant difference between a standard 4×4 setup and the enhanced performance of the D-MAX’s Difflock and Rough Terrain Mode,” said IPC President Tetsuya Fujita. “These intelligent features give drivers more control and confidence, especially when navigating tough terrain like this,” he added.

The D-MAX‘ new Differential Lock System allows drivers to lock the rear differential, ensuring equal power distribution to both rear wheels, which improves traction when navigating uneven or slippery surfaces. Combined with the Rough Terrain Mode, these features optimize the D-MAX’s off-road capabilities, making it an ideal choice for overlanding enthusiasts and off-road adventurers.

After an afternoon of off-road fun, the event shifted gears, allowing the families to relax and enjoy the resort’s amenities, a reminder of the D-MAX’s versatility as a vehicle suited for both work and play.

“We really value our customers, their relationship with us, and especially their inputs,” added Fujita. “Your feedback is what drives us to continuously improve our vehicles. The 2024 Isuzu D-MAX was designed with you in mind, delivering what we believe to be the ‘Ultimate Lifestyle Vehicle.’”

The day’s activities concluded with a dinner program, where IPC announced the winners of the eco-drive challenge. Topping the list was Van Vince Leano, who achieved an impressive fuel efficiency rating of 18.70 km/l. He was followed by Angelo Dela Cruz with 17.48 km/l, and Ronasis Alan Reyes at 16.91 km/l. These results reaffirm the D-MAX’s reputation for durability and fuel efficiency, even with the latest enhancements found in the 2024 model.

The 2024 Isuzu D-MAX is powered by the advanced 4JJ3-TCX Blue Power engine, designed to offer the perfect balance of power and fuel efficiency. With 190PS and 450Nm of torque, the engine provides ample power for off-road adventures, while maintaining impressive fuel economy. The Blue Power technology ensures lower emissions and optimized performance, making it a standout choice for both off-road driving and daily commutes.

The event wrapped up with a sumptuous dinner catered by SARSA Kitchen, accompanied by live music and entertainment, providing a perfect end to the weekend.
