Philippine car sales rose for the third straight month in July, marking the strongest monthly performance of 2026 so far, based on the latest report from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association, Inc. (TMA).

Total industry sales reached 42,880 units in July, up 2% from June and 5% higher than the same month last year. It was also the first year-on-year growth recorded in 2026.

CAMPI-TMA members posted 37,319 units for the month. With estimates from other automotive brands included, total industry sales reached the highest monthly level of the year.

“With this continuous growth, the industry is riding on a good momentum. We are hopeful that the positive trend will continue for the remainder of the year,” said CAMPI president Jose Maria Atienza.

While internal combustion engine vehicles remained in demand, electrified vehicles drove much of July’s growth. xEV sales more than doubled from a year earlier and accounted for 29.5% of the market, up 18 percentage points from the same month last year.

Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. led CAMPI-TMA sales in July with 17,797 units. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. followed with 6,271 units, while Suzuki Philippines Inc. posted 1,689 units. Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. recorded 1,256 units, and Ford Group Philippines, Inc. sold 1,152 units.

Based on year-to-date results, Toyota remained the market leader with 118,706 units. Mitsubishi followed with 42,592 units, while Suzuki, Ford, and Nissan rounded out the top five.
