VinFast has expanded its electric vehicle access model for ride-hailing and transport service drivers in Indonesia and the Philippines by introducing a new rental option backed by a range of incentives. The initiative is designed to help drivers transition more easily to electric vehicles, support greener transport services, and strengthen VinFast’s commitment to reducing emissions across Southeast Asia.

Under the new program, customers in both markets can now rent vehicles from VinFast’s Green lineup through the company’s authorized dealership network, in addition to the traditional purchase option.

Launched amid continued global fuel price volatility, the program gives service drivers access to cost-effective and reliable electric vehicles with low upfront costs. This allows them to start earning sooner without taking on the full financial burden of ownership. Under the rental model, drivers can begin operations with a low upfront deposit, long-term contracts, and competitive fixed daily rates starting at P1,000 in the Philippines, and IDR 312,500 in Indonesia.

For those who prefer to own their vehicles, VinFast is also offering financing solutions designed for commercial use. These plans are structured to reduce initial payments and align repayment schedules with drivers’ income streams, helping to improve cash flow and shorten payback periods.

By offering both rental and ownership models, VinFast aims to give drivers and transport operators more flexibility to choose an option that best fits their financial situation and operational requirements.

The program centers on VinFast’s Green vehicle lineup, which is purpose-built for high-frequency transport services. The lineup includes the Herio Green and Limo Green, designed for a variety of use cases ranging from individual ride-hailing operations to higher-capacity passenger transport. These vehicles are engineered for durability, energy efficiency, and optimized total cost of ownership, while also maintaining comfort for daily commercial use.

The initial rollout will begin in major metropolitan areas, including Greater Jakarta in Indonesia and Metro Manila in the Philippines, with gradual expansion planned across both countries.

Commercial customers will also benefit from VinFast’s broader EV ecosystem in Southeast Asia. This includes support such as free charging at V-Green stations through March 2029, helping reduce operating expenses and improve efficiency.

“Expanding access to electric vehicles in Indonesia and the Philippines represents VinFast’s next logical step in advancing the green transition of the commercial transport sector, which plays a critical role in achieving sustainable development goals. This initiative not only provides drivers with a stable source of income, but also contributes to improved quality of life and lower emissions. It underscores VinFast’s commitment to supporting driver communities as they transition toward more sustainable livelihoods,” said Ms. Duong Thi Thu Trang, Deputy CEO of Global Automotive Sales at VinFast.

VinFast continues to build a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem across key Southeast Asian markets, including Indonesia and the Philippines. Its efforts include a growing product lineup for both personal and commercial users, along with an expanding network of dealerships, aftersales services, and charging infrastructure.

At the same time, Vingroup, VinFast’s parent company, is rolling out additional initiatives to support the green transition in both markets. These include the Trade Gas for Electric program, which offers an extra incentive of up to 3% of vehicle value on top of existing promotions, as well as a 10% discount on Green SM electric ride fares in Indonesia through April 30, 2026.

Through these combined efforts, VinFast is accelerating the shift toward greener mobility while delivering real economic benefits to customers and communities across the region.
