Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) recently turned over the first installment of NMR85H aluminum van trucks that SPX Philippines Inc. (Shopee Xpress) acquired from the company. The official turnover was held last Monday, July 5, 2021, to bolster the fleet of the integrated logistics service of Shopee, the country’s leading and most popular e-commerce platform.

“On behalf of Isuzu Philippines Corporation, thank you to Shopee Xpress Philippines for trusting us to become their new, responsible partner. With the NMR’s tried and tested DNA, we are confident that they will be able to achieve their goal of safe and seamless deliveries in the fastest time possible,” said Mister Shojiro Sakoda, IPC’s Executive Vice President.

Shopee Xpress is the standard delivery option for the e-commerce site. It aims to efficiently ship items to not just ensure timely distribution, but also faster payout to the sellers. “From here on, Isuzu is looking forward to contributing to a more enjoyable e-commerce experience to Shopee sellers and customers through the NMR’s proven reliability and versatility on the road,” said Mr. Joseph Bautista, IPC Sales Division Head, who joined Mr. Sakoda during the official ceremony alongside Mr. Alex Paguio, Isuzu Automotive Dealership, Inc.’s (IADI) Chief Operating Officer, who was chiefly responsible in sealing the partnership.

The NMR85H is powered by a 4JJ1-TCC Euro IV diesel engine having a maximum power of 124 PS and torque of 354 N-m and has a 14-feet rear body. This engine and body configuration is suited to safely carry high volume cargo and is ideal for Shopee Xpress who places importance on providing the utmost care and handling especially when transporting from one hub to the other. On top of these is Isuzu’s wide dealer network that offers readily available parts as well as expert aftersales maintenance and care for end-to-end support in the productivity of operations.

With a brand-new middle mile fleet of durable and dependable NMR Trucks from Isuzu, we are able to operate efficiently and effectively as we deliver goods from sellers to buyers.”
