Sojitz G Auto Phillippines (SGAP), the official importer and distributor of Geely cars in the Philippines formally launched their brand with the introduction of the Coolray Subcompact Crossover SUV.
Marketed as the Geely Binyue in China, the Coolray is packed with cool and state-of-the-art features that give meaning to its name. Powered by a three-cylinder 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. The Coolray is the first high-performance SUV built on a B-segment Modular Architecture (BMA) platform. This platform was developed over a period of four years in partnership with Volvo and with the assistance of 100 modular architecture experts from over 20 countries. It was designed to exceed the criteria for a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, making utmost safety the standard for Geely vehicles. The BMA platform utilizes standard layouts for power, electrical, chassis, and body modules for future vehicle types such as sedans, MPVs, and SUVs. The platform allows up to 70% commonality in parts and components, shortening development lead time and allowing Geely to stay on top of customer demands.

The Geely Coolray was designed based on the concept “Racing through Space and Time”, inspired by confident, challenging and athletic urban young people. It is integrated with the “wingspan” design to demonstrate the “beauty of the young power” and to make Coolray as Geely’s high-performance global market-oriented vehicle full of energy, confidence, and strength. For the Sport variant, it comes with a black roof fitted with a panoramic sunroof and with a carbon fiber trims for that youthful sporty look. A 10.25-inch multimedia touch screen with QD link android connectivity function allows the mirroring of your android phone to the screen letting drivers focus on their driving. Part of the cool and innovative features of the Coolray Sport is the G-Pilot system that helps to drive with ease. It includes the Auto Parking Assist system which lets you do parallel and perpendicular parking with a touch of a button and four (4) cameras to give that 360-degree view of the car. It also has a Blind Spot Detection system that alerts the driver on incoming vehicles. Other convenience features include tire pressure monitoring system which provides a reading of pressure and temperature of tires in real-time and a remote start feature that lets owners turn on the engine and airconditioning system to cool the cabin especially if the vehicle is parked outside.
Although the Coolray is a small SUV, it is loaded with the latest technology and advanced safety features usually only found only in large size and luxury SUVs.
