Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) reaffirmed its reputation for fuel efficiency and diesel engineering after turning in impressive numbers at the 2025 Department of Energy (DOE) Fuel Eco-Run on September 24, 2025. The annual test measures real-world fuel economy of vehicles sold in the Philippines to help consumers make more informed choices.
IPC entered two of its best-selling light commercial models. In the N1 category, the Isuzu D-MAX LS-A 4×2 AT achieved 20.63 km/Lge. In the M1 mid-size SUV category, the Isuzu mu-X LS-A 4×2 AT posted 17.11 km/Lge—underscoring the model’s balance of power, comfort, and efficiency.
“These results reflect what our customers have long experienced with Isuzu vehicles,” said IPC Sales Division Head Robert Carlos. “The exceptional performance of the D-MAX and mu-X comes as no surprise, as the Isuzu brand is globally renowned for fuel efficiency. With our advanced diesel engine technology, combined with the aerodynamic design, both models are optimized to perform efficiently across various road conditions with less drag translating into this impressive fuel economy results.”
The DOE Fuel Eco-Run is conducted under highway driving conditions to closely mirror real-world use. For 2025, participating vehicles covered over 150 kilometers along the Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway (TPLEX), with the DOE supervising the run to ensure standardized and transparent testing.
Carlos also thanked the agency for sustaining the program, calling it “a valuable service to Filipino consumers” that promotes transparency, encourages innovation, and supports national energy-efficiency and sustainability goals.
With the latest results, IPC continues to highlight its commitment to durable, reliable, and fuel-efficient vehicles tailored to Filipino motorists.
