BYD Cars Philippines has broadened its electrified sedan offering with the facelifted BYD Seal 5 DM-i, introduced in Essential and Dynamic variants. Building on the momentum of the 2024 BYD Seal 5 launch, the new Seal 5 DM-i pairs the brand’s fifth-generation Super DM-i plug-in hybrid technology with practical features aimed at first-time buyers, families, professionals and commercial fleets.
“With the launch of the new Seal 5 DM-i, BYD Cars Philippines continues to set the benchmark for electric mobility in the country,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines. “Whether you are a first-time car buyer seeking reliability, a professional looking for a daily driver, or a fleet operator focused on optimizing operational costs, the new Seal 5 DM-i offers a practical yet advanced solution that ensures every journey is smarter, more comfortable, and more cost-effective.“

Performance and efficiency
Using BYD’s fifth-generation Super DM-i system, the Seal 5 DM-i demonstrated exceptional efficiency in an official efficiency run with the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP), achieving a combined driving range of up to 2,181 km. The Essential trim is equipped with a 7.42 kWh Blade Battery that provides up to 55 km of electric range, while the Dynamic adds an 18.3 kWh Blade Battery for up to 115 km of pure-electric driving. Many daily commutes can be completed on electric power alone, after which the hybrid system takes over seamlessly for longer trips.
Interior and connectivity
Inside, the Seal 5 DM-i focuses on comfort and connectivity. The cabin features an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Automatic climate control with rear air vents, multiple USB charging ports and a 522-liter trunk—expandable to 1,295 liters with the rear seats folded—ensure practicality for everyday life and business use.

Safety and construction
Built around BYD’s Blade Battery, the Seal 5 DM-i includes a comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assist features: Cruise Control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), rear parking sensors, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Hill Hold Control, Automatic Vehicle Hold and multiple airbags, all designed to give drivers greater confidence on the road.
