VinFast has launched the VF 2, a micro urban EV aimed at making car ownership more attainable for Vietnamese buyers. Priced at VND 188 million (about P440,000) — battery included — the two-door, four-seat city car is pitched as a safer, more comfortable alternative to motorcycles and a way to raise the quality of urban life.
Built for individual customers, the VF 2 is a compact city electric vehicle refined from the Minio Green platform. It’s agile and tight-footed, clearly tuned for narrow, congested streets. The vehicle measures 3,090 mm long, 1,496 mm wide and 1,663.2 mm tall, with a 2,065 mm wheelbase. Those proportions favor maneuverability while still seating four occupants, albeit snugly. The VF2 is similarly sized as the locally available Jetour Ice Cream and the Bestune Pony.
The VF2 sports LED headlights and 13-inch alloy wheels that give the VF 2 presence and invite personalization. Inside, the cabin features a 7-inch driver information display behind the wheel, air conditioning, a four-way manually adjustable driver’s seat and two integrated speakers with FM radio.
The VF 2 is powered by a rear-wheel-drive electric motor that produces 30 kW and 65 Nm of torque. Top speed is limited to 80 km/h, and drivers can select Eco or Normal modes. The usable battery capacity is 18.3 kWh, offering up to 210 km of range under the NEDC cycle. With DC fast charging up to 24 kW, the battery can be recharged from 10% to 70% in about 34 minutes.
Safety features include a driver’s airbag plus electronic aids such as ABS, Traction Control System (TCS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). A MacPherson suspension setup at both front and rear aims to deliver a composed, stable ride on city surfaces.
VF 2 ownership includes up to 10 free charging sessions per month at V-Green public chargers across Vietnam until February 10, 2029. With ownership costs comparable to a premium motorcycle but offering car-level practicality and safety, the VF 2 positions itself as an accessible, safe and convenient mobility solution for households — and a step toward reducing inner-city pollution.
Reservations in Vietnam open on July 15, 2026, with deliveries expected to begin in September 2026.
