BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV to Launch at MIAS 2026

BAIC is preparing to launch the B40e Trailmaster rEV at the 47th Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2026, scheduled for April 9 to 12, 2026 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Ahead of its debut, the brand has released initial details about its new electrified SUV. While full specifications will be revealed at MIAS 2026, from what we’ve seen and the information available so far points to a model that combines range-extender EV technology, off-road capability, and a long list of comfort and safety features.

BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV powertrain and range

BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV is fitted with a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder Miller Cycle engine paired with an Intelligent Range Extension System. Output is listed at 547 PS and 655 Nm of torque.

It is equipped with a 40.3-kWh lithium-ion (NMC) battery, and can travel 152 kilometers in pure EV mode, while total driving range is rated at more than 1,200 kilometers combined.

Those figures suggest the B40e Trailmaster rEV is being positioned as a vehicle that can handle daily electric driving while maintaining the flexibility for longer trips.

Off-road specs revealed so far

BAIC is also emphasizing the B40e Trailmaster rEV’s off-road credentials. It is listed with a 750-mm wading depth, a 36-degree approach angle, a 31-degree departure angle, and a 36-degree ramp angle.

It will also come with crawl control and front and rear differential locks, indicating that the B40e Trailmaster rEV is designed to offer more than just rugged styling.

In terms of size, the SUV measures 4,790 mm in length, 1,940 mm in width, and 1,915 mm in height.

Interior features and technology

Inside, the BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV has a premium cabin layout with several high-end features already confirmed. Some of them include a 12.8-inch center control display, a 12.8-inch passenger entertainment screen, a 12-speaker Infinity sound system with DSP, Front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage function, and aPanoramic Sunroof.

Safety and driver assistance systems

The B40e Trailmaster rEV is also set to get a comprehensive suite of driver assistance and safety features. TSome of them include :

Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning System, Emergency Lane Keep Assist, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, and Traffic Sign Recognition.

BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV price in the Philippines

BAIC has listed the B40e Trailmaster rEV with an SRP of P2,888,000, and comes with  a 5-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first, as well as a 50,000-kilometer battery warranty.

For now, these are the details BAIC has disclosed ahead of the vehicle’s official launch. The full specifications of the BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV are expected to be announced during its debut at MIAS 2026.

With electrified performance, long claimed range, and promising off-road hardware, the B40e Trailmaster rEV is shaping up to be one of the more interesting SUV launches to watch at this year’s Manila International Auto Show.
