VinFast has extended its free EV charging program in the Philippines, India, and Indonesia until March 31, 2029, a move aimed at lowering ownership costs and accelerating electric vehicle adoption across key Asian markets.
Under the updated policy, VinFast electric vehicle owners in the Philippines will continue to receive free charging on the V-Green charging network until the end of March 2029. The program applies to both existing owners and future buyers, and covers private users as well as transportation service operators, including drivers on the Green SM ride-hailing platform.
The automaker said the initiative builds on the positive reception of its current free charging program and is designed to strengthen the appeal of EV ownership by effectively reducing fuel costs to zero for three years. The strategy is also intended to help cut reliance on gasoline and support broader sustainability goals in the markets where VinFast is expanding its presence.
“VinFast’s initial free charging policy received strong support from consumers, both in Vietnam and in international markets where VinFast operates. Extending this policy for another three years is the next step in our strategy to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles. VinFast believes that when operating costs are optimized to nearly zero, consumers will have greater confidence and motivation to switch to green mobility, while also contributing to the greening of transportation systems in these countries,” said Duong Thi Thu Trang, Deputy CEO of Global Sales, VinFast.
The free charging offer comes as V-Green continues to expand its charging infrastructure across VinFast’s operating markets, a development intended to make the transition to electric mobility more practical and accessible for consumers.
VinFast is also supporting EV adoption in Asia through a broader package of incentives, including a battery subscription program aimed at reducing upfront purchase costs, a Residual Value Guarantee policy, flexible payment options, and extended warranty coverage.
With charging access improving and ownership incentives widening, VinFast is reinforcing its push to grow EV adoption in the Philippines, India, and Indonesia while positioning its electric mobility ecosystem for longer-term expansion.
