After an adrenaline-filled day at the racetrack, GAC Motor Philippines’ GA4 compact sedan once again proved its staying power by taking home top honors in this year’s Petron Kalayaan Cup 12 HR Endurance Race Challenge Series last June 12, 2022, at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.
Team GAC took home a total of 5 trophies, which include:
- 6 hours – Open A Champion
- 6 hours – Open B Champion
- 12 hours – Open A 1st Runner Up
- 12 hours – Open B 1st Runner Up
- Overall – 1st Runner Up
Piloted by a team led by Brennan S. Lim, GAC Motor Philippines’ Deputy CEO, the GAC GA4 completed 279 laps around the track in 12:02:34.178. It even posted a best time of 2:21:542.
Beyond statistics, the latest victory once again proved that the GA4 has what it takes to win endurance races and endure demanding driving conditions such as daily commutes and long road trips out of town. Its 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with DCVVT variable valve timing technology produces 113hp and 138Nm of torque–more than enough for normal driving conditions. It also offers a host of amenities that include an 8-inch infotainment display, a 360-degree camera system, and even a moonroof.
“The endurance race victories garnered by the GA4 since 2019 are an assurance that this compact offering, as well as other GAC vehicles, will be able to withstand the demanding conditions that their owners would subject them to in the coming years,” said Brennan S. Lim, GAC Motor Philippines’ Deputy CEO.
“The latest wins at this year’s Kalayaan Cup simply reinforce the durability and reliability of GAC and its products,” he added.
