Pilipinas Autogroup, Inc. (PAI), is now the official distributor of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles in the Philippines. This was announced at the ribbon-cutting ceremonies of its first dealership located in Cainta, Rizal.
If the company name sounds familiar, it is because, in April of 2014, the former Pilipinas Taj Autogroup, Inc. became the Pilipinas Autogroup, Inc. The name change marked the company’s acquisition of the rights to import and distribute Dongfeng vehicles in the country, alongside the already existing arrangement with Tata Motors.
“The Philippines is in a state of rapid development. Developing nations need a lot of transport and logistics to move its economy forward and it is here where the Dongfeng vehicles can greatly contribute to your business and the economy. In addition, PAI is commited to establish more Dongfeng dealerships in the coming months in order to serve vehicle and after-sales needs of its customers,” said David Coyukiat, Chairman of the board of Pilipinas Autogroup, Inc.
Dongfeng was founded in 1969 and quickly grew to become the top global brand it is today ranking number 67 in the Fortune 500 list. Joint ventures with top European and Japanese automotive brands ensure that Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles are backed by extensive research and development and manufactured using state-of-the-art processes.

During his speech, Coyukiat also mentioned that sixteen more dealerships are in the pipeline to open by 2021.
Dongfeng Cainta, led by Dealer Principals Alice and Louie Lee, carries the brand’s light to heavy commercial vehicles to suit different business needs. The line includes 4-, 6-, and 10-wheeler cargo trucks, minibusses, tractor heads, dump trucks, as well as cement mixers. Prices start at Php 970,000 for the Dongfeng Captain E 4-wheeler (4.45 Tons, 12.5 footer) to as much as Php 4,270,000 for the K375F 12-wheeler 70-ton dump truck.
