Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) recently introduced the revitalized 2017 ASX (Active Sport Crossover) to the Philippine car market. The new ASX is a completely Japan-built unit and available in two variants: the GLS and GSR. Both variants feature exterior and interior upgrades that continuously make the ASX an exciting vehicle for adventurous people to drive anywhere.

The 2017 ASX is still powered by the all-aluminum 2.0L 4B11 engine with MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve-timing Electronic Control) system that ensures optimal valve timing in all rpm ranges. The engine produces 149 HP @ 6,000 RPM and a maximum torque of 197 NM @ 4,200 RPM giving the ASX an exhilarating performance for those curves or highway straightaways.

For the exterior, the ASX now sports Mitsubishi’s new signature front fascia, the Dynamic Shield Concept. New features include wheel arc moldings, new 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, and a fin-type antenna located at the rear part of the roof. The top-on-the-line GSR variant also features a panoramic glass roof with LED illumination along the edges, and super wide range HID headlamps with retractable washers. These make the ASX the perfect vehicle for that relaxing drive through the city or the countryside in all weather conditions.

Inside, the new ASX features black-on-black styling starting with the black sporty dashboard. It features a 6.75-inch multimedia entertainment head unit, as well as an easy to use dial-type automatic climate control system. For the driver, the dash features a set of white-lit, high-contrast gauges with an LCD-type multi-function display. The black leather wrapped three-spoke steering wheel with integrated cruise-control and magnesium alloy paddle shifters let you command the ASX without your hands ever leaving the steering wheel. To complete the interior, the GLS variant gets seats wrapped in high-grade black fabric seats with red stitching, while the GSR gets black leather seats with red stitching. Safety in the new ASX is not forgotten with features such as dual stage SRS airbags for both the driver and front passenger, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, and three-point ELR seatbelts with pretensioners.

The SRP of the 2017 ASX is PHP 1,195,000.00 for the GLS and PHP 1,295,000.00 for the GSR variant. It comes with either a three year or 100,000-kilometer warranty. You can choose from six (6) colors – sapporo silver, sonic blue, amazon red, virgil grey, biscuit white, and carbon black.
