Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) launched today the much-awaited 2020 D-MAX Boondock 4×4 via their first-ever digital launch marking the brand’s response in the “new normal”.

2020 Isuzu DMAX Boondock4x4 Launch HajimeKoso

“Purposely named after the mountains, the Boondock displays an active lifestyle, a change from conventional, and a leap to living your life differently. This vehicle will give you confidence on the road so that you can slowly rediscover the joy of driving,” said IPC President Hajime Koso.

Based on the popular 3.0L D-MAX 4×4 LS-A model, the Boondock trademark adds an even tougher, more rugged image to the tried-and-tested pickup, making it ideal for the Filipino motorist looking for that one vehicle to embody the “can-do” attitude of a true off-roader.

The 2020 D-MAX Boondock 4×4 is powered by the Euro-4 compliant 4JJ1-TCX 4-Cylinder in-line Blue Power 3.0-liter diesel engine with VGS turbocharger and intercooler mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with gearshift indicator or 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift. The combination promises maximum power outputs of 175 HP at 3,600 RPM and 380 N-m of torque at 1,800 to 2,800 RPM.

Some of the functional design elements of the 2020 D-MAX Boondock are:

  • Monotube nitrogen-charged front and rear shock absorbers to ensure an instantaneous response to changing road conditions, resulting in improved steering control in whatever terrain and driving condition.
  • Steel side steps (with a honeycomb design with the “Boondock” logo) that provide better traction during ingress and egress, as well as valuable protection for the pickup body.
  • 265/70 R17 all-terrain tires with matte black off-road rally type design rims.
  • Hood, body, and, tailgate customized graphics that pay tribute to the country’s highest “boondock”, Mt. Apo.
