Honda Cars Philippines prepared a solid lineup for their display at the 2017 Manila International Auto Show, but the undeniable show stopper was the Civic Type R.
MIAS visitors flocked to the brand’s corner pavilion to see the star of the show, fresh from its global debut at the Geneva International Motor Show last month.
Powered by a 2.0-liter VTEC TURBO engine, this hot hatch produces 315 HP with peak torque of 400 Nm. Its engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and is further improved by a rev match control system. It also comes with three different modes – Comfort, Sport, and +R which will control the driving experience, depending one what’s needed. Stopping power is courtesy of 13.8-inch Brembo brakes.
Inside the cabin is sporty all the way — the interior is dotted with carbon fiber and red accents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an aluminum shift knob, and racing seats.
Following Honda’s heritage of developing high-performance vehicles, the Civic Type R is engineered to deliver the most rewarding drive with its refined aerodynamic styling, packaged with a remarkable driving performance. The Civic Type R features an extensive aerodynamic design characterized by its muscular and aggressive frame that provides better high-speed stability and more agile handling.
