After a brief preview last year, GWM Philippines, through its official distributor Luxuriant Automotive Group, Inc (LAGI), has finally launched the Haval H9 in the Philippines. Held on February 4, 2026, at the Lake Hall of the Sta. Elena Golf Club, the event brought together regional executives with customers, dealer and bank partners, media and influencers, friends, and the brand partners.
At the event, GWM Philippines Brand Head Dax Avenido highlighted the significance of the GWM Haval H9 in the brand’s growing presence in the country. “With the launch of the GWM Haval H9, we are stepping confidently into the SUV D-segment, a space defined by capability, presence, and performance,” he said. “This vehicle represents more than just a new model; it reflects where our brand is headed and the kind of value we want to deliver to Filipino motorists.”
GWM Philippines kept the lineup straightforward, initially offering only one version, the Haval H9 Lux 4×4. The seven-seater is the brand’s entry to the SUV D-segment, sized and positioned as a family-focused full-size SUV. Measuring 4,950 mm long, 1,976 mm wide, and 1,930 mm tall, riding on a 2,850 mm wheelbase—the model is also perfect for the adventure seekers, and drivers who demand more from their vehicles.
Powering the H9 is a 2.4-liter turbocharged CRDI diesel (2,370 cc) rated at 186 PS at 3,600 rpm and 480 Nm from 1,500 to 2,500 rpm, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The H9 features torque-on-demand 4WD as well as a 4L mode, backed by seven drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand), and 4L—a setup intended to suit daily commutes as well as weekend trips beyond paved roads.
Hardware includes a double wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear setup, paired with 18-inch alloy wheels and 265/60 R18 tires. It is fitted with ventilated discs in front and at the rear, and has an electronic parking brake with auto brake hold.
Inside, GWM leans into comfort and convenience for families. The H9 comes with triple-zone automatic climate control, with rear airflow handled by second-row roof and lower-mounted vents and third-row roof-mounted vents. A 14.6-inch touchscreen manages infotainment, with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity, while the driver has a 10.25-inch TFT color display. Charging and device support are a major focus as well, with a 50W fast wireless charger, two power outlets (one front, one rear), and USB coverage that included USB-A and USB-C ports in the front and at the rear. The cabin also features a leather-wrapped steering wheel with controls, tilt and telescopic adjustment, and a combined 6-way power adjustment with 4-way electric lumbar adjustment for the driver’s seat.
Safety and driver-assist equipment include six airbags (front, side, and curtain), ISOFIX tethers, ABS with EBD, and electronic aids such as ESC, traction control, hill-start assist, and hill descent control. For parking and low-speed maneuvering, the H9 is equipped with a 540-degree view camera and four rear sensors, while highway runs are supported by cruise control with Off-Road Adaptive Cruise Control.
The GWM Haval H9 Lux 4×4 is available is three exterior colorways: Iceberg White and Midnight Black with black leather interiors, and Stealth Gray with orange leather interior. It is available at the introductory price of P1,928,888 until May 31, 2026, and a suggested retail price of P1,998,888. Similar to the other vehicles offered by GWM Philippines, the Haval H9 comes with a 7-years or 200,000-kilometer whichever-comes-first warranty.
